  • I’m not saying he has the “right” CFB is a business now (Moreso than ever before) so no coach is safe if the college wants to be competitive or whatever it is CFB is trying to have these days.

…but I will say getting rid of him isn’t a great look and that it’s just a pointless move unless you have an actual 5-star coach wanting to come…[Read more]

  • That maybe true, but right now Scalley needs to prove himself with the defense until the end of the season. The problem is, Whitt maybe in his way or holding him back from executing a defensive scheme he knows can work. Let’s hope Afernee and the MiamiUte are on point with their assessments.

  • 3-3

I see us winning TCU, Houston and probably CO

I have seen no reason this year to be optimistic about the other three games. Sadly.

And the emotional energy of playing BYU anywhere seems to have fizzled out for us over the last few years…being in a different conference, having the series interrupted, not even wanting to play them and now…[Read more]

  • After the last two losses, I have my reservations about Scalley. If the trend continues rest of the season into next season with or without Whitt, Scalley would have a monumental task ahead of him to right the ship and get the program back on track. Right now, Jay Hill has done an excellent job at TDS that the administration needs to give him a…[Read more]

  • Post: “Utah vs BYU|W (Utah will not lose to BYU at home, let’s be real.)”

I like your confidence would LOVE for this to happen! I hope the team will be pissed off angry for this game and takes it all out on the TDS giving them what could be their only 1 or 2 losses of the season, but if Utah continues playing like they have, TDS wins this game p…[Read more]

  • The success of a Scalley transition in my mind depends a lot on whether the program is in the toilet or winning. Right now it would knee cap the hell out of him. If it was announced before the Penn St Rose bowl that it was Whitt’s last game it probably would have work ok. Right now… not so much.

  • Unless the offense gets its head out of its collective ass, Utah might not win another game the rest of the season. Just look at each team they play…there’s no team left in its schedule that has a worse QB situation than Utah. That needs to get resolved yesterday.

And this comment: Utah will not lose to BYU at home, let’s be real Brother, y…[Read more]

  • Yeah, I feel that Scalley is much more like Urban than Whitt. I get a “riverboat gambler” vibe to him. I don’t think that his teams will have a lack of aggression or spontaneity.

  • Urban Meyer has said on more than one occasion that Scalley is one of the top 5 favorite players he’s ever coached. Chase Hansen (Saints from 19-22) said Morgan is the best coach he’s ever head at any level. Morgan has told people close to him he wants an aggressive “Urban-like offense.” I’m not worried about him carrying over the things Whitt…[Read more]

  • We’re up to three donations now after a very generous person donated $100.

So that puts us up to $132.00 toward our $2500 goal.

Since we’re venmo only I’m not sure how to show updates. I may continue to comment in this thread with updates to let everyone know how close (or far) we are from the goal. Or I may find a different way or place to do…[Read more]

  • Any team that has a decent offense scares me at this point since I fear our offense can’t score enough points. TCU, CO, TSPP, Iowa state or UCF could outscore us easily.

  • We could easily lose those last four games.

  • I am not surprised at where Utah is right now in terms of their record. The mayhem of aa new conference is getting to Utah. Nonetheless, I see us going 4-2 for the remaining six games.

    Utah vs TCU|W
Utah at Houston|W (could be a trap game)
Utah vs BYU|W (Utah will not lose to BYU at home, let’s be real.)
Utah at Colorado|L (Utah cannot go score…[Read more]

The high school ratings for the 2021 class were put together on shortened seasons due to Covid. It’s fairly widely recognized that those ratings were not as reliable as other years.

  • Not living in SLC, I gauge Kool-aid consumption based on communication from the coaches/prayers through various media outlets, social media, this site etc before the season. The main Kool-aid message was anything less than getting to the B12 Championship game was a failed season. Roughly half way through the season the goal is pretty much…[Read more]

  • Rusty, where does he live? Somewhere on the Avenues or up in Big Cottonwood?

  • Whitt has been the best things that happened to Utah football and has had a great 20 year ride. Consequently, I would neve push him out.

That being said, I think it is time for him to hang it up and turn it over to Scalley. Why? The team does not seem cohesive and lacks the energy we have seen in the past. I think the program needs a…[Read more]

  • Because of my background, all the other fans that I’m close to are not from Utah and are fans of different teams. Whenever we talk about college football and Utah becomes a topic of discussion, the main things that are mentioned are: 1. Solid, not great, program. 2. They ALWAYS lose multiple games every year. 3. Every time they have an…[Read more]

Thank you for putting this together. But I’m not sure I’m fully following your conclusion. Are we as good as advertised at developing, or does that seem exaggerated? I’m surprised to see so many blue-chip players on the roster honestly.

  • They’ve decided that Rising is the best chance for the team to achieve it’s goals which is fine. At the same time, it was incredibly shortsighted to not have a package ready for Wilson and give him a planned drive in the 2nd quarter so that you can continue his development with a set script of plays that he is comfortable with. Questionable…[Read more]
