Am I the only one who isn’t experiencing the usual ramping up as we get closer to opening day?
I feel like I’m checking the usual sources as often as I have in the past. And I’m just not getting that external push. It’s almost like with all of the unknowns going into the first season without the Quarterback who shall not be named, all of the urinalists are afraid to do their usual hype articles.
I feel the same way. 0 excitement here. Not reading anything on the upcoming season and players. I’ll watch the first game, but I don’t even know who half the players are. I’m hoping the team comes out strong and my enthusiasm builds from there.
I’m feeling excited for the same reason you aren’t excited. It’s high time we got some new faces. We’ve been playing the will they/won’t they game with Cam and co for years. I’m not expecting anything, but I’m excited to see some new faces out there (and not because of injuries for once).
I’m actually excited about the season. Dampier and the offense could be really good. I’m staying positive but have toned down my expectations. I just want the offense to play with the same intensity as the defense and it will be fun to watch win or lose.
I check out this great site daily to see if the overwhelming caution and at times negativity turns around. Nope. Damn our fan base sure suffered football trauma the last two seasons for all the reasons previously noted. Understandable. I don’t care. Bring on the season. Great Defense and new offense. I am excited.
I just keep reminding myself of the 2012 and 2013 seasons and how the next year we bounced back and went 9-4 and 10-3 the next two seasons. I am hoping something similar will happen this year! Go Utes!
I was quite excited for the last 2 seasons. But then when so many of the players I’m excited to watch don’t end up playing and we lose so regularly to bad teams, the excitement diminishes.
When people ask me how I think the Utes will do this year, I just say “It depends on how many and which players are injured and won’t play” and then kind of leave it at that.
They also have nothing to go off of. There is only so much to write about a team when all you can see is the roster and if you’re lucky you can get an interview with a kid that had been coached up on what he can reveal to the program. My biggest hope is that Scalley brings the fans back into the equation… we are just a necessary evil for Whitt.
