have the Utes as the #8 team in the pac loosing to Oregon, USC, UCLA, ASU, and CAL?
ASU and CAL!??! Yeah ok… Cal’s defense is pretty good not even sure on how many they graduated.
The article makes a fair point. We are tough to predict. Utah can win or lose any game during conference play. Our time so far in the PAC 12 proves as much. That said, I think a reasonable expectation for this team is a 3rd-6th place finish.
It’s hard to take an article about our football team seriously when it contains not a single ounce of actual analysis about the team, and fails to mention the name of a single player.
That one Aussie player, that is a son to Flipper Anderson famous, HOF Baseball player. (Insert mispronounced Polynesian name)
Plus, the author is about 3 years away from his 1st shave. (if you care, click on his name and you’ll see his pic)
How can Utah have the best DL, second best OL, best ST’s, third best rushing attack and 2nd-4th best secondary…Plus they have won 19 games over the last two years with no passing attack….
Yet they are picked eighth? The definition of LAZY, uniformed journalism.
College football success comes in this order:
1-defense
2-OL
3-coach
4-rushing attack
5-QB
The simple layman thinks that success comes through
1-QB
2-QB
3-Passing yards
4-Flashy TD throws
5-everything else.
There’s a reason why I’ve been so high on Utah the last two years and everyone else has been down.
Forget about QB’s. They aren’t the end all be all that the media/BYU fan leads you to believe.
This is football. At the end of the day the trenches and run game rule the roost.
The Utah formula:
1-DL
2-DL backup
3-RB
4-DB
5-QB that can be switched to DB
5-WR that can be switched to DB
6-Kicker
7-Punter
8-OL
9-QB that can’t play DB
10-WR that can’t play DB
11-TE that can’t play LB
12-OC that can make it just through this year
You’re always in the game with good defense. Your punter buys you field position. You might actually win if your kicker can score, your defense will chip in a few points and maybe your offense will too. Offense’s main goal is to maintain possession so your defense gets as much rest as possible. 3.5 yds per play is ideal.
Will you goofballs upload some damn photos to your profiles so I can keep you straight?
Sheesh.
