  • Well, you and him were there at the beginning. Of time.

  • To counter some of the negativity connected to the inconsequential comeback by OSU in the second half, I would like to submit a modicum of optimism.  It seems like Parker Van Dyke is starting to emerge from his cocoon.  He did pretty well against some of the scrubby teams we played earlier on the season, but has essentially disappeared during…[Read more]

  • Lots of fans appear as douchecanoes under the veil of internet anonymity.  It seems that when you type things in your underwear in your parents’ basement, the douche quotient always increases.  I tend to think that the inter webs not only encourages the worst fans to express “bold” opinions, it also encourages the worst out of otherwise sober…[Read more]

This guy deserves a special shout out.  On a tough day when UCLA decided to go all out in the air, no doubt taking some advantage of the fact that Marcus Williams is out, Jordan Fogal came in and had two interceptions and a big 4th down stop in the second quarter that led to Joe Williams’ second touchdown.  These were momentum shifting moments in…[Read more]

  • It just worked for me, I was able to make the changes I wanted.

  • I love it.  Love down and dirty, slog it out in the trenches football.  This is what Kyle Whittingham builds his team to do.  Good running game, strong O-line and D-line, slow down the game, run the clock.  It’s a chess game full of patience and frustration.  Ute fans become confused because we have some athletes who are capable of breaking out,…[Read more]

    “Take #75 Out!”

That’s what I heard one fan behind me shout last night.  I had to chuckle a bit.  Yes, let’s remove our fourth string center, who is actually our backup right guard.  We’ll replace him with Scooby Doo.  It’s amazing the lack of fan awareness at our games.  Anyway, it looks like the false starts got cleaned up a little bit by the…[Read more]

  • Aren’t we giving up 27 ppg in the PAC thus far?

If you could have one wish for something that you would like to see this season for the Utes, what would it be?  And please don’t be obvious, like “national championship” or “PAC-12 champs”.  Think of something unique and specific.

I will start.  I wish for Utah to meet an undefeated Stanfurd in the PAC-12 championship.

I’m really liking our current situation at RB.  First, we have three guys that appear capable of a 100 rushing yard game.  Second, one guy isn’t having to carry such a massive burden.  I think this was a factor last year as to why we faded a bit…Booker was overworked.  This isn’t a problem now.  Each of these guys can get 5-15 carries a game…[Read more]

  • Since Utah is talking about “since the Vegas bowl” it is safe to say that our team is better in the backfield.  We retained Joe Williams, who was present at Vegas, plus we have Troy McCormick back, which is a clear improvement.  Now, if we’re comparing the RB position to last season in general, I’d say we’ve taken a step back, since we had an N…[Read more]

Tony, is there a quick and easy way to see the percentage of picks for each team in the pick ’em contest.  This would be a nice stat to have to know which games are most in play each week for upsets, etc.  this week, for example, seems to only offer a couple of games that are interesting.  It would be nice to know the top games to pay attention to…[Read more]

Does anyone have any special insight on how our punting game is going to be this season?  Tom Hackett is going to be tough to replace.  Many of our games are dictated by the field position game, and Hackett played an integral role in that.  How’s this Wishnowski kid looking?  Will he have Hackett’s same level of accuracy?  This could be huge.
