Interesting that we’re above 10-2 UW. Does it leave the door open for Rose Bowl even if we lose?
It does if they keep us there even if we lose the ccg.
If a close loss, maybe. They also implied Penn State to Rose and Ohio State to Orange.
For all our losses the rankings have been very kind and bullish on the Utes.
Great compliment.
It would be a tough ask of the Rose Bowl committee to select the Utes if they lost the CCG. At that point, UW would be ranked higher, and have a couple of quality wins (most specifically beating Oregon in Autzen where we failed). They also haven’t been to Pasadena in over four years, so you know that there’s pent-up demand and that their fans will travel.
Ummmm….we also beat another PAC12 team ranked higher than the Ducks, and I’m not referring to the Trojans. Yep, the Beavs are on top of the Ducks in the polls!
UW did beat OSU as well, but our victory over USC is obviously the best win of the two.
True. So we both lost to the Bruins, and we lost to the Ducks, which IMO is way better than UW losing to the Forks. Right now their highest ranked win is against the now #16 Ducks. Ours is #4 U$C. So it might boil down to the perceived weight of a loss in an additional championship game to a playoff bound team. I’d hate to see that happen!
Not to be argumentative, but there’s no way the Rose Bowl committee selects a 9-4 Utah over a 10-2 UW. That’s just not happening for a number of reasons.
Nope. If we lose, we’ll drop in the polls, and UWa will subsequently move up and snatch the Rose Bowl.
Zero chance we stay one spot above 10-2 Washington if we lose and drop to 9-4
Fun year for the pac. Crazy that UCLA is 17th in the country but 6th in our conference.
Great perspective! Thanks for that comment!
