Go Utes!!!
Gotta love that SEC bump. Not that it matters for the Utes situation anyway but inflating LSU and Ole Miss before they become fodder for Alabama is a solid move by the committee. Also, putting the entire top half of the ACC Atlantic division so it looks like Clemson beat somebody was neat.
The SEC bump is deserved. They have the best P5 against P5 record last 5 years (55-32, 63%). They typically get the best recruits. If Ole Miss played UCLA at a neutral site they’d probably beat them. PAC 12 is 19-29 against P5 teams in the last 5 years (39%).
Didn’t say the bump wasn’t deserved, just wish they would try and hide it better. LSU and Bama play this week, Ole Miss has a bye this week then plays Bama, lo and behold Bama now has 2 “top 10” wins for the committee to consider vs any other school in their ranking group.
If it’s deserved, there is nothing to hide.
Honestly it helps us because if we lost to a bottom tier B12 or ACC team instead of Florida we’d be a couple more spots back
Your not wrong. UCLA actually has a stronger resume in a vacuum than USC, LSU, or Ole’ Miss. But Utah is Rose Bowl or bust anyway so we can just sit back and enjoy the carnage.
So freaking lame that Alabama is ranked higher than TCU!
6-2 LSU above 7-1 UCLA is also a joke.

I agree with you. I checked out Joel Klatt’s explanation of how the CFB seeding process is done. It gave me a little clarity. Don’t know how you feel about it.
Thanks, @wcrunner. Curious to check out Klatt’s take.
Agree, TCU is a perfect example of the inherent brand bias within the committee. Utah’s recent showings on national TV hanging in and beating big name teams has given Utah a lot of P5 natonal football cred. Utah’s been the highest ranked two loss team since the UCLA meltdown. Injuries to the starters is allowing some new guys to really step up and get experience. Vaki, Glover, Parks, Vele, JJ, Isabel, and Barnes. All these guys and I’m sure plenty of others are keeping Utah strong. The defense is looking better and better since the 2nd half of the USC game.
So freaking lame that Utah is ranked lower than 2-loss Kansas State, who lost at home to Tulane !!
Kansas St absolutely curb-stomped a then top-10 Oklahoma St, and Tulane is ranked.
Tulane is ranked tho too.
So they have better losses than Utah.
Tulane is also ranked, right? KSU just pasted a good OSU. We are about where we should be. That no show at UCLA and the turnover and lack of D at UF are keeping us from being like number 4. If we win at the end ot the UF game, even then, we get mentioned for the playoff, but we didn’t.
So, let’s go win the rest of our games, win in Vegas, and see where we end up!
