Is Harlan in charge of negotiating NIL deals?

the last time i checked, he was the athletic director and NIL falls under his purview.

Except the school can’t negotiate NIL deals for athletes… The only thing Mark Harlan needs to do is make sure the SA’s are following the rules.

he can help facilitate as AD’s across the country are doing.

From the NCAA on its rules for NIL:

Under the new NCAA policy, universities are prohibited from assisting the student athlete in obtaining NIL opportunities. While schools can offer guidance on whether the deal will violate NCAA rules or state law, they will not provide feedback about the contents of the deal itself. In other words, whether the student athlete is maximizing their NIL rights is in the student athlete’s sole judgment. It is imperative that student athletes adhere to the school’s individual policy and disclose any NIL deals to their compliance office in a timely manner.

you really think vague language like this is stopping the AD’s at schools like USC, OSU, Alabama, A&M and others from getting players taken care of?

i’m saying if we want to be considered a big time program, we need to start acting like one.

Good god some of our fans are so ignorant. If you want to help out – go to those sponsored events to fund some of our athletes.

Do wish Utah had more passionate fans with money to form a Ute collective.

owing to brand and student athlete privacy, i can’t divulge more details this time.

So a brand has hired a student athlete to publicly promote their brand, but they have sworn you to secrecy because ….? Heaven forbid word gets out. Gotta keep these promotional deals as secret as possible, otherwise the business paying the money might get some benefit.

Not sure if it would exactly be kosher – but the University of Utah Hospital systems should look into using Athletes to promote thingx like the Orthopeadic services or Rehab Medicine. Feels like a win win to me.

Once I finish fellowship – if I come back to Utah I will def push whatever organization I work for to use Utah Athletes to promote my practice.

He’s not Pace, this account is Pat Kinahan the lazy-ass sports writer who has to skim fan boards to get ideas for his lame articles. Keep in mind he is a die-hard ASU man and wants the U to be runs as poorly as ASU.
