Vegas Bowl adds SEC or Big-10 (site: Raiders new stadium)
New Pac-12 Bowls: LA Bowl (site: LA Rams Stadium), Independence Bowl
Out: Cheez-it Bowl

Bumps the Vegas Bowl up a notch.
Per Jon Wilner:
here’s the likely Pac-12 lineup starting in 2020:
1. Rose Bowl vs. Big Ten
2. Alamo Bowl vs. Big 12
3. Las Vegas Bowl vs. SEC/Big Ten
4. Holiday Bowl vs. ACC
5. Redbox vs. Big Ten
6. Sun vs. ACC
7. Los Angeles Bowl vs. Mountain West
8. Independence Bowl vs. ACC
Love seeing that “vs. Independent G5” is nowhere on the list.
Yeah, link below mentions its up to ESPN Events to slot-in Independents into their bowls. I assume that means on a space-available basis, say if one conference or another can’t fill all its slots. No reserved bids. Is TDS still committed to the Hawaii Bowl this year?
Of course, the opponent matters, so I will never say “never”, but all things being equal, why would anyone NOT drive straight through LV and on to SD, or better yet, spend a little more on airfare and a car rental.
Las Vegas is a $#ithole, and always will be. The weather is usually questionable, especially compared to SD, and even if the Vegas game is rescheduled for NY weekend, matching the Holiday Bowl, still, WHY WOULD VEGAS EVER BE BETTER THAN SD?
Obviously, I’m not a gambler, so if gambling is your answer, I quickly defer.
Otherwise, it is NO CONTEST!
I think the stadium and TV coverage are a bigger deal than the city. This is a giant leap up from either Sam Boyd or Qualcomm.
This is great news for us. Vegas Bowl knows Ute fans will make the short drive, especially for a great P-5 matchup.
As a college football handicapper, I love the match up with the MWC team. First place MWC team is WAY better then a 7th place PAC12 team.

Presumably the Vegas Bowl will now be on a much later date (rather than in mid-December).
Would be a much more attractive bowl (especially with a quality opponent from a strong conference).
