Yea, no. Securing that job just got a lot tougher. At this point, if Ryan Lacy and other players aren’t going to share their full story and just make partial statement on social media, then Scalley should give the context as he sees it and get it out there. Own up to it. Then move on. I’m not saying he will or will not be with the Utes going forward. I’m just saying that’s probably the best policy.
“Remember when some thought Scalley was the coach in waiting?”
You mean, all the way back to…yesterday morning?
Ah, those halcyon days of yesteryear. 😉
Haha, yea.
I was thinking the same thing. I was about 80% sure Morgan would be the next HC. Not now. The coaching train just derailed.
If we assume Morgan is done (which I think he is), then this means Whit stays a couple years longer. Sharif Shah is your new DC, and eventually the next HC.
I don’t know that Sharif Shaw would be a good DC. I don’t know that he wouldn’t either.
I don’t see Shaw our next coach in waiting either. I still want Scalley, but if that ship has sailed, I’d rather see either Gary Anderson or Jay Hill taking our top job.
Gary Anderson? No thanks.
Jay Hill= no thanks- small time bubble coach
Given the current situation in this country, I wouldn’t be surprised if Whitt is pressured to retire as well.
If he knew about the text he’s done.
Can you imagine the negative recruiting impact if kwhitt new?
There are two sides to every story. Lacy has his, Morgan has his. As of now Lacys comments are accusations. The truth will come forward either way. I’m sure Utah to reaching out to former players back to 2008. Asking there experiences with Morgan. I hope Morgan can recover from this. Ultimately I believe it will come down to the African American players on the team now.
