ParticipantAnyone know what time it’s at, also is there a better source for info on it other than UteZone?

ParticipantThe top secret Fall camp practice is kind of silly. Not sure what the point is keeping all of the media out. Looks like KW is back on the wait until kick-off to announce the starting QB plan. Of the limited reports coming out of camp, not much info on the Oline other than Ford’s excellent cooking ability and Bam showing improvement. Just some pre-season angst :).
Curious to see who ends up as the starting Oline. Every offensive position other than Oline has upgraded with new players over the offseason. Go Utes!

ParticipantI am not sure updates from practice are going to do much about the questions. With so many young players in the phase where improvements are the greatest, every new year will provide upgrades from names buried in the list. The good news is the coaches have a better idea where they are because they can be measured against a front seven that is as good as they will face in the conference. The critical update item, I think, is the injury report. We need to keep that clean.

ParticipantBill Riley just tweeted out some scrimmage news. Said that CB and Rising is currently a dead heat and won’t be resolved prior to next week’s scrimmage. Also, Theo Howard and Tavion Thomas were singled out as having really good days. Lloyd and Covey were held out due to non-injury related reasons…ie keeping them healthy. Lloyd and Mika Tafua confirmed that the Oline has significantly improved from last year in pass pro. And according to Whitt the offense was better than the defense.

ParticipantAfter today’s scrimmage Britain Covey said they have at least 5 guys right now that can all make plays consistently at the WR spot and good shot that number might reach 6.

ParticipantLots of love coming out of Camp Kyle lately for TT. Thomas even tweeted out that coming to Utah was the best decision he’s ever made. Love hearing that!
Maybe Tavion Thomas is this year’s bell cow?

ParticipantAnother tweet from Riley…. Whittingham said that his new Aussie Punter, Cameron Peasley, started off “horribly” but now has begun to kick the ball like they expected. Had a good scrimmage.
Hope this isn’t another Ben Lennon…

ParticipantGreat news. My first concern is obviously Oline blocking for “throw” game. Second is special teams.

ParticipantYou could be right. TT looks like a playmaker. Even after we had filled the RB room, talent/potential we saw in him must have been too good to pass up.

ParticipantThomas originally committed to Oklahoma before going to Cincy. He held offers from Bama, Ohio St, Michigan, USC, Georgia to name a few.

ParticipantI’ve been hearing a lot about the QB competition lately. I think everyone is surprised Rising came back as strong as he has. If it’s a dead heat, do you think they go with the young guy to prepare for the future, or do they stick with experience for this year because they’re expecting big things? My guess is the young guy.

ParticipantJust to toot my own prediction again I think Rising wins the job. Ludwig has always been impressed with him.

ParticipantI was on the Brewer train a couple weeks ago but after listening to Whitt and Covey speak, I’m with you on Rising.
