After a fantastic night on the beach in Greece capped off with ouzo, I couldn’t stay conscious long enough to watch a 2am kick off.

From reading previous comments it sounds like the o line struggled and we threw rising in a QB. Lost in 3rd overtime on a reviewed 2 point conversion?

That about sums it up, Tony. The offense looked a hell of a lot better with Rising in at QB. The o-line didn’t magically play better, but he is elusive enough to compensate for the porous o-line. He extended plays and brought Utah back from a two touchdown (and 2-pt conversion) deficit.

      Rising is QB1.

Basically our online was putrid for a half during which either team only managed a field goal.

But covey returned a punt and we gave up a kick return. 10-10.

In the second half we gave a td drive to start the half. Our awful oline play continued which led to a brewer int retuned to the 5ish. We promptly conceded another td.

We out in rising at the end of the 3rd and all of the sudden the oline went from putrid to passable. Scored twice to tie it.

We lost in triple OT. Touchdowns in the first ot. Two missed field goals on the second. The third ot is now decided by two point conversions. They converted theirs on a trick play. We missed ours on a pass play to Connor o’toole. Initially rules good but overturned on review. The call should have stood IMO. I’d have been fined had an incomplete call stood too cause it was close. I don’t think they had the evidence to overturn but they did.

My take is that our D is still for real. Our special teams aren’t special.

Our oline is letting the offense down(tight end blocking too). But there is no doubt things clicked in the 4th with rising in. So with a very soft landing into conference play(wazzu and bye), usc already sitting with a loss and just enough promising play to end the game, I’m cautiously optimistic we can right the ship and have a go at the south division.
