Yeah, that is a major departure from Ute teams of the past. No sacks, no turnovers, very very few penalties, a strong running game, and an excellent defensive line. The only thing missing to make this a perfect Kyle Whittingham team is an all world kicker (I suppose Redding could be that guy but he hasn’t proven that yet).
There were no field goal attempts Saturday. Really good Red Zone execution. Lets keep it that way, and then whether or not Redding pans out as an “all world” FG kicker won’t matter.
I hadn’t thought about it until now, but you’re correct. I was so used to 3 or 4 Andy Phillips field goals each game. It’s nice to see the red zone execution under ludwig.
I think perhaps when we were around the 38 or so facing 4th and 5, (and went for it and made it enroute to a TD) last year may have had Matt try the FG.
