Where else could the following happen and people who just shrug it off as a natural occurrence?
– 24-17 halftime lead? check
– get outscored 0-21 in the 3rd quarter? check
– score 3 TD’s but miss an extra point and two point conversion? checkand still get the ball back with a 5 point lead and not be able to run out the clock?

Also known as: another bad 2023 Pac-12 team takes down another 2024 P4 scalp. Maybe that west coast football wasn’t as bad as the talking heads made it out to be.

Vegas pumps in O2 in their casinos so that you don’t get drunk on all the free drinks. Better to keep the players buzzed and losing than puking in their hotel rooms with full wallets. As long as you can seal a building or room, you can adjust any of the air components, over / underpressure.,,

The NFL has a great policy to follow
Tom Brady was on the weekly injury list for most of his career but still managed to play damn near every game in fine health. That NFL list isn’t worth the newspaper space it takes up.

I lived in Wichita for 6 years. I understand the weather patterns in that area.
If we were talking about golf, yeah weather absolutely matters because the morning flight can go out in clear skies with not a hint of wind while the afternoon flight has to play in a monsoon.
But it’s 2024. You don’t have to be a meteorologist to look up the last…[Read more]

This week’s game is why you watch college football. What appears to be two very similar teams and the range of outcomes will probably be somewhere between 49-0 either way.
Will one team have a better scheme and take control early and blow the other out? Will it be back and forth all day and come down to a single play whose outcome can be…[Read more]

Texas was credited with a sack in the Big-12 CCG last year so the streak would be at 4 games which is still pretty incredible. You need a great OLine as well as a QB who doesn’t hold the ball any longer than he has to.

It’s overblown because both teams have to play in the same conditions. Just like Utah’s opponents have to figure out a way to deal with the elevation and weather at RES, Utah has to figure out what to do when they go on the road. And it’s also very easy to overhydrate and cause the same physical issues you were referring to.
The whole…[Read more]

I used to play softball tournaments in OKC. One year it was in the 80’s for a February tournament and then we got snowed on when we went back in March.
Which actually isn’t that different from Salt Lake. Plenty of humidity comes off that blue thing directly to the west and it was absolute writ that there would be at least one snow practice…[Read more]

at least half of the team and 90% of the coaches were in the Swamp two years ago. This temp/humidity thing is pretty overblown unless you think nothing has been implemented about how to prepare since then

I believe the shiny new indoor facility is climate controlled so they can set it to alot of different conditions. Hot/Humid should be in the parameters of what they can work out in.

We discussed this last year. Until the SC game, Utah had lost on the road to every team with a winning record and beaten every team with a losing record this decade.
Simply put, it’s hard to beat good teams on the road no matter the spread.

no, no, no. Only Utah receivers drop the ball. The other team can’t catch the ball because of great effort by the Utah defense 🙂

I’m nowhere near a Ludwig defender. I just don’t find that scenario to be outside the bounds of what you can expect out of 90% of OC’s.
With a more experienced QB in the game, perhaps there’s a hot tag or read option in that situation. But any call he makes on 2nd and 10 is going to be safe to try to get to 3rd and manageable.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Isaac Wilson in the forum Football 9 months, 4 weeks ago
That’s not a Ludwig issue. 3rd and 7 is converted at a much higher percentage than 3rd and 10 so most coordinators will call something safe to try to get 3 or 4 yards in the hopes that there’s a missed tackle to get 7 or 8 out of it.
