Holladay you make some great points. Obviously management agrees with your takes. Analytics have taken over decision making in all professional sports and even college. When an old school coach like Whitt uses analytics in game situations you know it has to be working.
As a fan and competitor tanking is not in my vocabulary. I can’t imagine p…[Read more]

I agree Kellso. I’m tired of all the analytics, the tanking, sitting guys out. Setting up so we can win later. All that so we have a 14% chance of getting 1 player that isn’t proven or could get hurt and never live up to expectations. Stockton Malone era had no 1st picks and made it to the finals playing as a team and good coaching.
Only 1 tea…[Read more]

Looks like a good piece to the RB room. In the NIL era we can’t compete for the top guys. So do you recruit and pay freshman who are not physically ready to play or experienced players that can play immediately? Besides Bernard what other RB has developed and stayed? I think the coaching staff is adjusting on the fly and will put the best team o…[Read more]

You make some great points Chin. Length can have different meanings. To me length is tall, long arms and able to jump quick to out reach the other guy and block shots. Height is how tall you are. Not the same.

Is Keita considered a rim protector at 6’8”? I would say he is. Long arms and quick jumping ability can be effective rim protectors. Plus be able to guard the perimeter better in pick and roll switches.

Amazing someone figured out that tall unathletic players can’t play defense or rebound. Times have changed and you better be athletic to compete.

Hiding injuries and giving false hope to fans and media is not a good look for the program or for the injured players. The “competitive advantage” is overblown. You don’t think ASU knew Cam couldn’t throw?
If you’re going to play “next man up” mantra quit playing games with players heads. Get the backups ready to play and be honest about the sev…[Read more]

He has flaws in his game that don’t transfer to the NFL as well as character issues.

Some things can’t be bought. Loyalty, integrity and love for your teammates. I want him on my team whether it’s football, business or life in general. Football could end tomorrow integrity and commitment last a lifetime. Thanks Smith for staying and representing in football and class.

Hope he stays. He is a class act and loves the program. Wants to play in the NFL and Utah gives him the best chance. I might be wrong but there are still some players that look at the whole picture and not just money.

Why the need to post on our site. I hope it made you feel better. I’m not sure the tide has turned in FB. One good year and suddenly you’re the dominant team? You won last year against our third team QB who played the second half with a broken foot. $$ has bought you players that would never consider attending your school in the past. Kudos to you…[Read more]

Curious to see if he has a deal already in place or shopping around to find one. I hope it’s worth it. He was set to be WR 1. New school, new program and new offense.

I agree Rick. Getting a new offense that is player friendly will make a difference. Lots of unknowns with this team but the team vibe seems much better with the new offensive staff. I’m optimistic we can contend but not drinking the koolaide again.

Ludwig’s offense took a couple years to figure out and understand. Under Whitt it has always been run first. We haven’t had a gunslinger type QB that is throw first. Rising wasn’t a great downfield QB.
Obviously the offense was not designed for WR to get big numbers. Two NFL guys Vele and Patrick didn’t have big numbers.
I focused in on rece…[Read more]

Good point BD. All “Locked on Big12” cares about is ratings like any other media outlet. Cougar fans are a hot ticket for ratings. Utah hate + BYU love = more viewers. It’s just a matter of time when the roles will change. The wolf in sheep’s clothing. They’ve been the most despised fan base in every conference they’ve been in. Free ice cream a…[Read more]

Boosters now are being asked to donate year to year for players who will transfer for more money every year. In the past donors have built facilities and upgrades that help the program for decades.
NIL money is not sustainable. Once the boosters decide the ROI is not worth it they won’t return.
