I can’t really relate, because I drink wine like it’s my job, but I second the Chardonnay. It’s a very user-friendly white, as is Pinot Grigio. For reds I like Cabs and Chianti. I personally find sweet wines like Reisling very off-putting after about half a glass, but I know some people love them.
