I don’t know how you can put Bama in over Texas when Texas beat them soundly on their home field. If Bama ends up winning this game and Florida state wins tonight, I think there’s a very real possibility the SEC could get left out

I think we stay about the same. We beat a ranked team even if it wasn’t the prettiest of games. I don’t know how far Notre Dame will drop considering they lost on the last play of the game and I’m curious if Bama will pass us beating a higher ranked Ole Miss team than UCLA. Outside that, everyone else above us won.

Yeah for sure. They are looking solid right now, the way our defense has played up to this point this year, I think we will have a very difficult time stopping them. Luckily we have three more games to maybe figure it out.

We’re still fairly young just taking a quick glance at the depth chart. Obviously it’ll all depend who goes pro and who decides to come back. It’ll be interesting to see if Rising and potentially Kuithe come back. I’m assuming Phillips will declare for the draft. All of our offensive and defensive linemen right now would be able to come back. Experience could be good but our schedule is also brutal next year with Florida and Baylor on it.

I enjoy the evening and night games in terms of an atmosphere perspective. I feel like RES is more electric at night. However, with weather in mind, I hate September day games with the sun bearing down on you and the bleachers reflecting the light on you, those games are miserable. I can handle winter night games by adding on another layer of clothing but there’s not much you can do for those September day games to keep cool.

I think an 8-4 season would be quite the accomplishment considering everything that has happened to this team this year with the injuries and how tough the PAC 12 has ended up being. What would be crazy is if we do end up 9-3, we actually will end up having the same regular season record as the 2 previous teams. Obviously not playing for the PAC 12 championship will feel disappointing but if we can manage 9-3, I’d make an argument that this is one of Whitt’s best coaching years in terms of just finding ways to win with a depleted roster, especially a depleted offense.

Still lots of ball to be played and unfortunately there isn’t a gimme left on the schedule since ASU has been playing better, Arizona is looking like a top 25 team all of sudden and colorado can put up points if your not careful. Washington is a very good team, beatable for sure but I doubt they will overlook us.

That Arizona game definitely is going to be a sneaky tough matchup. I think we should be favored in 3/4 games but it ultimately is going to depend how the offense does. I think the Vaki surprise is wearing off now that there’s game film on it. I think 9-3 would be great considering how this season has gone with all the injuries but my gut is telling me 8-4 at the moment. However, we won’t play a team nearly as good as this Oregon team the rest of the way (I do think Oregon would/will beat Washington if they played again)

Honestly as much as the fan base has been blasting the offensive decision making, I don’t think Whitt cares if we score 40 points a game or 14, just as long as we win, he will do what it takes. UCLA wasn’t scoring on us and we were up 14, it just felt like with the fumbles and the pass protection breaking down time and time again, the play was to be conservative until UCLA proved they could score on our defense. I’m sure had UCLA scored earlier in the game, we would’ve seen the offense play out differently because they would of had to but honestly some games you just need to find a way to win which ultimately we did.

I do think our offense has a long way to go and this game this week makes me nervous with Oregon State coming off of a lose but I’d rather have to fix the offense then have to fix the defense. Hopefully as Johnson continues to learn the system and our offensive line play improved, we can start opening up the scoring more.

Lastly, I do think UCLA will have the best defense we will play this year. I think they are the only team that can punch back at us like that. But I guess we will see. Go Utes!

It’s frustrating because year after year we’ve waited for the offense to catch up to our defense. Many years were spent with the defense winning us games. Once we finally get that offense we’ve been waiting for, the defense is now the problem. USC, Washington State, Oregon all got good offenses and Arizona has had flashes of good offense this year. We need to figure it out soon, otherwise we’ll find ourselves losing the next two.

UCLA’s website was selling tickets anywhere from $35 by Utah’s allotment in the end zone (sections 25-27) to $55, $75 as you got closer to midfield on Utah’s sideline. When I went and checked Utah’s allotment, those seats were nearly gone. I’m expecting a healthy dose of Utah fans at the game but I’m also expecting a larger crowd of UCLA fans than have been at their games so far this year (41k at the Washington game reported)
