Yeah, God told him to go to BYU. It had nothing to do with the fact that, from several sources, he was offered twice as much NIL as he was getting here 🙄

Can’t believe I’d ever be saying this, but after 20+ years of being a season ticket holder, this might be my final season. Until NIL, the transfer portal and tampering is fixed, I’m not going to continue paying more and more for a sub par product.

      “has the stats”

Correct me if I’m wrong. Didn’t he have a 1:1 TD to Int ratio last year? That stat alone is concerning. He’s an explosive player but he needs to cut down on the turnovers or else Whitt will have him benched by conference play.

“This is the most talented team I’ve had the opportunity to coach”

      -Whittingham, probably.

Just wait until that money starts flowing into their football program. The current state of NIL and the transfer portal is our path to irrelevance.

Like you mentioned, Jensen is an awesome hire for our basketball team. But until the donors start really competing in NIL, the coach won’t matter.

Like UteBacker, I had no idea they started this weekend until this very moment. Diehard college football fan with zero interest here.

Not to 💩 on any of these incoming transfers but it’s wild to see how NIL has completely changed the landscape of college football to where we are going to start being a farming school for the “top tier”, and teams like Tulsa and New Mexico are going to be farming schools for “middle tier” teams like Utah.

I’ve watched as many of his highlights as I could find and he kind of just seems like a more athletic and faster version of Isaac Wilson. Sure he’s a great runner, but a 1:1 TD to INT ratio? Whitt’s gonna shut that down real quick. We better reach out to Ken Niumatalolo to see if he’ll give us some tips on running the triple option.

If this is our home run QB transfer, we’re in worse shape than I thought. And before someone reminds me that NMU had an amazing offense, what they didn’t have was a head coach that p**sed his pants every time his offense took the field.

I’m a little surprised about King, honestly. He clearly wasn’t happy with how little he was used this season.

Exactly! I don’t blame any player leaving to get paid more money. I don’t like it, but it’s just the way the game is played. Hell, if a company offered me twice the paycheck to do the same job, you couldn’t stop me from taking it.

But to say “God called and told me to transfer” is so disingenuous. I guess my question to him would be, why did God wait until NIL was involved to tell you you belong at BYU?
