I don’t see the Stanford game as a WTF loss. They are a decent team who was playing at home. Utah had just lost a double overtime game 30 hours before. This game looked like a loss based on the ridiculous schedule, then the two overtimes sealed the deal.
The damage was done Thursday night.

Rooks fouled Collette hard on at least one move to the hoop, Rabb pushed Kuzma twice in the span of 30 seconds going over his back for rebounds… Etc, etc…
Those guys weren’t going to foul out last night. Kuzma and Collette, and out guards all made moves to the basket and Cal’s bigs weren’t backing off. They must just be magical non-foulers.

Larry’s teams tend to play exactly to their potential. Rarely a win over a favored team, rarely a loss to an inferior team.

So that call where they looked at the monitor forever at the end of regulation, or overtime… Was I the only one that thought the call there should have been an over-the-back foul on Cal?

I haven’t given up completely on this season yet, but to the question, “When are we going to get over the hump”, look to next year. We lose only Bonam and Bealer from this team. This team will have matured, played together for a full season (plus off-season), and will have likely had some valuable experience in the NIT. Add to that any…[Read more]

Don’t forget the Utes are a super young team in terms of the amount of time they’ve played together as a team. All but two of these players are first timers this year. Oregon has had this nucleus together for quite some time and it shows.

For it to be a rivalry, both teams have to win now and then. So far, we’re just Oregon’s bitch. Over and over and over.

loyter replied to the topic I said this below but I'll bring it hear for a new topic. Daniels best Ute ever? in the forum Basketball (Men) 8 years, 3 months ago
I had to register because of this post. Come on, really? Daniels? He’s good and I’m stoked he’s a Ute, but best ever? Even saying best freshman ever is nutso.
Let’s look at KVH: As a freshman, averaged a freshman record 18.3 ppg and 8 rebounds. First team all conference. (Then three-time WAC POY, and all time scoring leader and all time…[Read more]
