Serious question, do people really buy replica rings for a team they never played on?

The backups are a really good point. I’m really hoping that we can keep Dampier healthy and then at a minimum either Wilson or Ficklin uses a redshirt. I’m not as worried about losing both of them. One maybe, but backup qbs reload pretty easily.

Here’s the thing w DD. If they can get him to land those tough passes he lands putting the ball at risk as much as he does, he will play one and done. If his TO to TD ration remains high, he’ll finish out college here. I see a ton of potential, so I’m hoping the one year scenario plays out.

A very short and not extremely accurate QB in the NFL? I predict that Dampier stays in Utah two years and changes position prior to the NFL draft. Besides, if he stays in Utah for his senior season he’ll make more than as a low level draftee or UDFA.

He could endu p being a very good college QB (I hope so). But,I don’t think he is NFL material. But, what do I know? I am lookin forward to seeing what he can do this season.

Good to great college QB without some of the key NFL qualities (size, arm talent) is the sweet spot. Our last 3 real QBs (Huntley, Rising, Dampier) all seem to fit in this category. With NIL these guys will play college ball longer.

If he’s awesome and has a solid draft grade he’ll do 1 year.

If he’s good, but not draftable, 2 years

If he stinks and gets benched he transfers.

Don’t know. He set a commitment date twice and has since postponed it twice.

I don’t think it has anything to do with other teams coming in late with huge NIL deals. Utah will match anyway
      He’s a must have recruit

Kids could postpone for a million different reasons.

I haven’t heard any info that would make me think he isn’t gonna be a Ute.

He’s not a flashy “see me” kind of kid. He’s could just post on X or Instagram on day that’s he’s committed and do it with zero fanfare.

Everyone is just in wait mode.

What Kool Aid? He’s an offensive tackle who won’t even be on the team until next year.
