Whatever helps us win I’m in favor of.

Vaki was awesome playing 2 ways a couple of years ago. As was Eric Weddle.

Back in the 80s I wonder if we should have used one of my favorite Utes, Errol Tucker, occasionally on offense. He was so electric with the ball in his hands.

The very fact that we are discussing crap like this is one reason why I hate being in the same conference as those tools. That can sometimes filter down to the conference because we are stuck here right now. Ask yourself this, if BYU was NOT in the Big 12, would you have a different feeling toward the Big 12? I know I sure would. It is not the conference that I hate, it is the fact that we have to be in this conference with a team and fan base that I hate.

Wow! This was like a good therapy session! Thanks! 🙂

Gimmick players are not a good thing IMO. When they come in, everyone knows what is about to happen. If they are going to play both ways all the time, and they are capable of it, fine. It doesn’t even have to be close to every snap, just enough so that it isn’t obvious what we are about to do when they come on the field. That was one of Ludwig’s biggest flaws, I sure hope we don’t have the same problem with Beck.

This is either being done as a way to drum up publicity and excitement for these players, or the players we have on offense aren’t getting the job done.

Hmm. I haven’t heard about this. Seems like someone is dropping the ball.

It’s because apparently they’ve only told the season ticket holders who are on a payment plan? If you were on a payment plan, they texted you if you didn’t update your info you’d lose your tickets I guess.

If you look for the emails about buying single game tickets from like July 7th, it tells you to create your paciolan account. The AD really dropped the ball here IMO. I think we’ll have lots of confused people for the first game

The pumping in crowd noise claim is one of the million reasons I can’t stand being in the same conference as those idiots. Everything they do or say seems so childish.

The pumping crowd noise claim. Sigh.

This is one reason why it is so frustrating being a Ute fan. We have to deal with this childish nonsense from byu fans. And the worst part is that this stupid claim by byu fans will probably never die. 10 years from now another byu fan somewhere will bring it up. And lots of byu fans will cheer it on: “Utah pumps in fake crowd noise!” Over and over. Even when the facts are brought up and countered the stupid claim. Even when byu fans are told the truth they’ll continue to ignore it.

If you’re a byu fan lurking and reading this: Pay attention (but I’m sure you won’t care about the facts anyway because that’s what your fanbase does.)

Yes music is played over the speaker system. And, yes, when the band plays it gets amplified over the speaker system. And the MUSS is right next to the band and the speakers pick up the MUSS. So no the crowd noise is not fake. It is the band that is amplified with nearby MUSS fans.

Years and years in the Pac-12 and no fans in that conference complained about “fake crowd noise”. But byu fans complain about it now over and over. And byu fans probably won’t quit. Over and over. Even if Utah was pumping in fake crowd noise and if it was against some rules it would have been stopped by now. Hell even super byu lover and Ute hater Drake Troll (oops I mean Toll) denounced the fake crowd noise claim on one of his YouTube videos.

Those are the facts. But facts don’t mean squat to byu fans in rivalry matters. And I’m sure that won’t change which is why Utah fans wish we didn’t have to be in the same conference as byu.

They mic the band simply so they can be heard over the crowd.

But no need to mic the crowd. We make enough sound on our own.

Thinking of the TCU game in 2008 and after we took the lead, the TV announcer said “this is a well built stadium, the press box is shaking”

Lander was an excellent TE in high school. Not sure I like the idea but I get it.
