I agree, I posted elsewhere about another team I follow where they are replacing all their starters this year and its not the first year for that. College sports once had the attraction of following promising student athletes through their college years, and there was continuity with just a fraction of the starters graduating or, occasionally leaving early for the NBA. While it was unfair to a few players that the schools were benefiting from the star players’ appeal to the fans and the donors and the students were strictly prohibited, the way the NIL deals have been twisted and blown up recently means your favorite team is now just a collection of mercenaries playing on year-to-year contracts. TDS is no different as much as they like to project they’re different, “never the highest bidder” line is laughable. Between this and my local university (I don’t live in Utah) threatening to move their games elsewhere to get the city to pay for a new arena under the guise of “economic development” has really turned me off to college basketball.

Thaddeus, also known as Jude in the New Testament. St. Jude is the patron saint of “Lost Causes” so we got that going for us.

Odd for a Utah team to take the name of a California ski resort.

If you look at the successful coaches in the FBS they all seemed to have moved up through the ranks staying at the college level having served at low-paying roles as “graduate assistants” and “analysts” to get started rather than getting established in the HS coaching ranks. That said, having a guy who knows Utah HS football from the inside might be great for recruiting, assuming he’s respected by the other HS coaches and not despised for his success (I don’t know in this case). As you said he seems to know QB development well, hopefully his methods will translate to FBS College level — there are things you can get away with in HS that won’t fly in FBS due to speed, complexity, and talent in the FBS college defenses.

Woman who prepares and serves the sideline charcuterie board.
Actually, I always wondered if she was actually 20-something coed but just has a June Cleaver middle-age hairstyle.

Thanks, my wife want to watch Dateline. News flash: in a bit of Dateline twist a wife conspired with her lover to have her husband killed.

Good find, it’ll be interesting to see how the logo and mascot (Wooly) may differ from the Lacrosse team. Kinda looks like stuff from Univ of Alabama football with more prominent tusks (cue Fleetwood Mac).

Interesting path, we’ll see how long he lasts in SEC. A lot of competition, even within the Oklahoma QB room with Jackson Arnold and Hawkins returning, now Niu entering and possibly Mateer from WSU – rumors, only. Not enough snaps for all those guys unless they’re very patient.

Back in those days, watching football was for mainly socializing and not so much to live-or-die over whether the U was flashing afterward. Utah was primarily known for basketball.

Second half, TSPP finally figuring out that OSU doesn’t have much of a run defense.
