  • He’s obviously not on the coaching staff, but I heard that Sitake has brought in Gary as an advisor. I guess I am a bit surprised. He was helping Jay Hill when he was still at Weber.

Whitt and Gary have been great friends. However, Anderson has made some boneheaded decisions to the point that I doubt Whitt can trust him anymore.

  • We opened things up in 2019 and had great success. Why this year?

    1. We have a very good, experienced QB.
    2. We have a very talented tight end and a few other solid tight ends, so we can be creative with our sets.
    3. We have some solid wide receivers, i.e., Singer, Pittman, Parks, et al.
    4. I am not sure who will be RB1 this season. However, we…[Read more]

  • I think that Scalley will continue with the same defensive philosophy that Whitt uses. However, on offense – I think he will open it up more than Whitt. When he was the ST coordinator, they were bigger risk takers than before or since IMO.

But, I don’t know anything. Just my opinion.

Looks like I will need ESPN+ to watch some Utah football games this season. Is this something that I can add to my Xfinity contract? What do I need to do to get it before the season starts?

    Thanks!!!

  • This is our third LB committ, which is good. But, now we need some corners, Dline, etc.

  • The Utes coaching staff have done a great job of turning good athletes into great football players, i.e., Lloyd, Kuithe, Bishop, Weddle, et al.

I am not a cancel-culture guy. However, I think Ryan Smith needs to be careful. He should focus on his pro teams. Throwing millions at BYU and not Utah could backfire on him.’

    I tend to agree.

I was at the store here in Utah County wearing a Ute polo shirt. A man said to me, “You are wearing a Utah shirt.” I responded, “Yes, I am.” He then said, “You guys should be very good in football. In fact, you should be ashamed if you don’t win the Big 12.”

He went on to talk about how good BYU will be in basketball and I agreed they had an…[Read more]

  • I hate to see where college football is going. I liked being part of a the PAC12, a regional conference. I hate what NIL has become, and the portal has become a joke.

There will be 2 or 3 super conferences. I hope Utah lands in one of those conferences.

I really don’t care what happens to BYU. If they end up in a super conference with the…[Read more]

  • If a Ute fan would have posted similar things about BYU on the CB – he/she would have been suspended and the post deleted.

Thanks, Tony for allowing freedom of speech. I think Matt completely believed in what he posted. However, in the end he was trolling and trying his best to irritate Ute fans with things like calling Whitt a douche.

    Wow, just wow.

Yes, CB gets more posts in an hour than we do here in a normal week. You cannot argue that.

Utah has developed into a solid football program and has a lot of national respect. I have no idea why you think Whitt is a jerk. This makes no sense to me. I guess if he is not placing BYU on a pedestal he must be a terrible…[Read more]

    Another Prediction

Here is another guy close to college football who thinks Utah will end up in the BIG or SEC. I think that if we end up with two power conferences – Utah should be in the mix IMO. I may not be alive to ever see this happen.

Right now, we are in the Big 12. Let’s make the best of it.

    Go Utes!!!

  • ProudUte replied to the topic Utah offers Hans Olsen's son in the forum Football 1 year ago

The funny thing is that many on the CB think that Hans is a Utah homer. Hans just speaks the truth, and sometimes it offends BYU and even Utah fans. He doesn’t try to sugarcoat things. When he sees something that is not working – he brings it up.

  • I know some of you think that the 60 in 60 is a waste of time. I think it is fun to see what the media predicts and to see what actually happens during the season. Obviously, they were way off last season due to injuries.

Which Utes do you expect to be in the top ten this summer? As for me:

    Definite top ten
    Rising
    Kuithe
    Barton
    Reid

Hans is a former BYU player, and he is now their color guy. He played with Kalani. Obviously, he is a BYU fan. But, he has never been a Utah hater and has great respect for Whitt and Harding.

In my opinion, this kid would be a good get. We have flipped other BYU legacy kids, and I hope we can flip this kid. I know he is no Fano. I don’t expect…[Read more]

  • A number of years ago I was applying for a fairly prestigious job. I got included in (with two other people) the final interviews. There was a group of four people doing the interview. The two who would ultimately make the decision were diehard BYU fans. The HR Director who was present in the interview, was a Ute fan.

At the end of a fairly…[Read more]

I have know idea where he will end up, but you can’t teach that kind of size. He needs to develop. if Utah gets him and he enrolls in January, we will get him in the weight room and start working on his skills. He already plays for a very good high school coach and program.
