There were pics of Cam’s hand posted on social media and here the week of ASU game. Swollen, finger in splint.
We saw the lack of velocity on Cam’s throws in ASU game.
We saw Cam’s leg get injured early in ASU game (torn MCL later diagnosed) and hobble the rest of game.
Whitt saw all of this just like we did.

This from Alex Markham, Cam’s hand still not healed today. So, what was he doing playing against ASU only weeks after injury?

I have it second hand from Dybantsa’s father that AJ was going to play for the school that paid him the most. There was no other objective or criteria for them in their decision making.

Point is probably moot, but if you care to go watch him in the UCF game.
I don’t put all my stock in stats, good or bad. I put little to no stock in what Whitt says. I put a lot more on what I see.
This is a money move and P2 has the money. Don’t be surprised if he goes P2, which should be, to a degree, a validation of his talent and potential.

It’s a loss. Watching the UCF game, the one game ZW started in 2024 and largely what his stats were based on, you saw the talent.
You can argue we don’t use WR. You can argue we struggle to field QBs who throw vertically. You can argue Whitt speak and practice don’t mean much of anything. But you can’t argue the talent that you saw and losing…[Read more]

Quick clarification, Mosley is a class of 2026 recruit from Pittsburg, CA not a transfer from Pitt that can immediatley fill void of WRs that just hit the portal.

“Big12 officials are pretty lax on holding.”
Except that one game deciding call on some press handplay against a front running team.
Felt like Larry Scott was back.

Holding onto Ficklin may ultimately mean moving on from Isaac Wilson and we haven’t let go, yet. Dead heat, co-QB2 will only work for so long and whoever ultimately is made QB3 will probably transfer. You can argue that staying patient for a first and possible redshirt year might appease Ficklin to accept QB3, but Ficklin has already sized up I…[Read more]

Good point, I like seeing the depth play in games we have in hand and this is another chance to see them play and what we’ve got in the pipeline even if it’s a glorified scrimmage.

Practice…
I’m not convinced JB scheme uses TE and even if it does that TE is best suited for Andrews to max touches.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Andrews is RB1 or RB2 when the season ends.

Carsen Ryan > Dallin Bentley and Landen King all day long. Don’t care what Utah’s depth chart said, it’s both coach speak and completely non-representative of the play we all saw on field from these 3 last season.
Ryan caught his targets, got YAC and outproduced both Bentley who looked like he didn’t belong athletically and King who ran more wr…[Read more]

What’s going on is this…tailwinds from 2024 season and Big 12 inclusion. BYU has some momentum right now. Couple this with our poor season and you can see how top in state recruits have shifted their gaze a bit.
However, I believe this is all secondary to BYU’s NIL strategy. BYU’s recruiting pool for football is small. It’s largely limited t…[Read more]

Charlie, I like your posts and positive outlook. You’re always pro-Utah. But really? Whitt committed QB malpractice the past 2 seasons (not his first offenses btw) and you want to chalk it up to bad luck?
We see this one differently.

First glance his offers aren’t impressive.
Closer look, Texas St was #5 in D1 offense in 2024. They know how to score points. They know under the radar players that will score points in their scheme.
JB also knows what players will shine in his scheme.
This could be good.

Yeah, I think personnel was transformative.
Whether it was Rising getting us into the right play at LOS or his making a play with his legs when plays broke down or TT’s elite vision that transformed Whitt and Ludwig’s predictability and conservatism into something more.
Do we really believe that in 2021-2022 Whitt and Ludwig schemed and pla…[Read more]

Well done, excited for continued momentum and follow on success.

I hope the offense will be transformed, but I think you’re giving Whitt too much credit.
I’ll believe he has gotten out of his own way and the OC’s way when I see it. We will see it in scheme, we will see it in the “throw game”. True change specifically will be less predictable playcalling and game plan, increased WR use and targets, throwing…[Read more]

Would you have limited Van Horn’s minutes? KVH was a warm body defensively. Seems a bit like cutting off nose to spite face.
KD was tops on the team all year in bpm or +-. We outscored the competition the most with KD on the floor, both sides of it.
Can’t deny his scoring. Can’t deny his rebounding. Question his defense or defensive effort all y…[Read more]
