  You don’t know that. 100 percent there will be a season. When, who knows. But not having a season would be the absolutely last resort. And sorry to be blunt but money talks.

    How do they bring the “student athletes “ back to campus when others aren’t required to? If they do, it proves they’re athletes first, and being exploited. Something they’ve been unable to admit even though it’s obvious.

      I see your point, but it seems to me that the athletes can still do their online learning and play games/practice. Most students that are doing distance learning are still excercising. Plus, with a smaller number of players, they could monitor and test more closely.

      I sure wish someone had exploited me to the tune of a free college education, free room and board, free medical care, free training, free tutors, free meals, free travel, fame, and a connected network of people that would serve me professionally far beyond any network regular college students can develop.

  I remember the NCAA saying that fall sports would not be allowed at schools who are only offering online courses (perhaps they changed this statement recently, but I haven’t seen that). The article states that USC is still planning some hybrid courses, so I think they are still technically allowed to play fall sports for now. Things definitely look grim, though.

  It is the 4th of July.
  
  Colorado is currently in phase 1 still (my buddies have to make appointments to buy groceries in Denver)
  
  Washington and Oregon are in phase 1.5 (The Washington governor would still have it at a 1 if he could)
  
  California is retreating back to phase 1
  
  Arizona is retreating back to phase 1
  
  We are 4 weeks away from Zero barrier to start on time. It doesn’t look good.

  I wonder if some conference will play and other won’t. Could that happen? If the SEC says they are playing (as they seem to be planning), but the Pac12 shuts down, will the SEC follow suit or push on? It will be interesting to see.

    Definitely. This is why the conference games only options are being discussed. Many people question what good a conference only schedule does in terms of not spreading the virus. It has never been about not spreading the virus, it has been about managing the logistics of allowing some schools to play while others aren’t able or willing to.
