  Pledger would be great! However Glass from Olk St. Doesn’t catch the ball out of the backfield. I would look at Curry from LSU instead. 4 star who waited his turn behind other NFL prospects, got injured and then the program moved on to other 4 star recruits. Looks like an ideal back for our offense. Size/speed/ catching ability

      I don’t think Wilmore comes back. He doesn’t really fit the Utah mold. Kid can run and hit really well, but wasnt much of a blocker like Moss and Ty Jordan.

        .If Whitt can accept those in the transfer portal he shouldn’t hold grudges if his players use it. I really doubt he would feel that way but I don’t know.

        Joe Williams wasn’t that long ago. Dude “retired” from football in the middle of the year and came back. I am sure Whitt would take Wilmore back if it was for the good of the team.

        I mostly disagree for two reasons. 1) You can’t send a message to 1/2 of the team who want more playing time that they can test the waters and opt back in, this would be a nightmare. 2) As soon as that player hits the portal, the coaching staff is filling schollarships elsewhere. Wilmore, as an underclassman who got playing time, decided that there is more potential for him elseswhere…grass is greener. Adios muchacho is the business response. Wish him all the success in the world is the personal and fan response.

        Joe Williams and Wilmore are two completely different situations. One stepped away from football for personal reasons, the other wants to find a different team. Bye Felicia!

        “Williams’ sister, who had been in and out of the hospital over a weekend in June 2007, passed away in William’s arms. After autopsy results showed that emergency services could have sustained her life, Williams put the blame of her death squarely on his own shoulders. He went through counseling to deal with the guilt and shame for not calling 911 earlier and saving her life.         Depends on the teams needs at the moment and the value of the the player to the team .. IMO it doesn’t speak well about the player and commitment to buy into the teams philosophy when they hit the portal .. but it’s not always a black and white situation.. I’d say a few years ago, maybe whit let’s them back.. today ; next man up . Utah stock is high with good competition coming in at just about every position; even QB .. which for once is a good thing ; you’re starting to see that take place

        Agree. Whit has to take this stance, otherwise, guys can dip their toes in the portal all the time and then come crawling back. Nobody wants to see their 2 deep guys doing that.

  Oklahoma State redshirt freshman running back Deondrick Glass entered the transfer portal Thursday, 247Sports has learned.
  
  Glass took a redshirt last season, playing in one game against McNeese State, in which he earned two carries. The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Texan has yet to play in a game for the Cowboys this year, falling behind true freshman running back Dominic Richardson for third in the team’s backfield rotation.

  T.J Pledger spent three seasons with the Sooners, struggling to get a heavy amount of carries in his first two seasons. But in 2020, Pledger got 95 carries for 451 yards and five touchdowns. He ends his time at Oklahoma with 695 yards and six touchdowns on a total of 135 carries in his time with the Sooners.

        Yea, he is a little slow but definitely fast enough. He is a one cut runner that punishes people. If you look at an extreme example look at someone like derrick henry who is a punisher/bruiser that runs a 4.54 40. That is almost exactly what Curry ran. But nonetheless we need one of these top end transfer guys.

  I am really curious to hear @OnlyU’s thoughts on this. We all know that he is connected to the team, this was a massive loss on many levels, that I am sure they are still trying to wrap their heads around.
  
  I agree with others, I don’t think Wilmore comes back. Also, Ty isn’t one where his talent on the football field can be replaced. In the 5 games he played, he looked like the best Freshman Utah has ever had (I don’t believe that is hyperbole).
  
  All that said, Utah has a great track record at RB. They were already thin at the spot, this should represent an opportunity though for a high end prospect to consider coming. Will be interesting to see what happens here, especially with how highly regarded Ty was.
