  Texas State QB just flipped his commitment to Utah. Pretty safe to say we are getting the Texas State OC.

  I like how many points Texas State scored. It would be fun to have an offense that could score multiple TDs in a game.

    #6 in total offense. #11 in scoring offense. #2 in first downs offense. #16 in rushing offense. #21 3rd down conversion. #14 in passing team efficiency.

    I think it became a goal during the losing streak to have multiple first downs in a game. Touchdowns were too lofty.

  I think the Texas St OC probably will move, but not necessarily to Utah (we’ll see – I think it could still be UNLV Marion). But either way, the qb probably saw the writing on the wall, had an opportunity to jump from Sun Belt to Big 12, and took the weighed decision.

        I would be hella skeptical to sign right now. But that is my 41 year old paranoid ass.

  Whit can’t hire outside his comfort zone.
  
  If I’m Scalley I’m p**sed. Get told by whit he’s retiring and he doesn’t cause the season didn’t go the way you planned. Get told you can hire your guy for OC and then get force fed Jason Beck cause whit botched another OC hire

    Ah yes. That dogs**t New Mexico offense. #4 in total offense, just behind Miami and Ole Miss. #4 in first downs. The #15 red zone offense. I’d hate to have anything close to that…

    Do you have info that Scalley would not agree with a Beck hire?
    
    I do not have strong feelings about any of the names being floated for OC, but I would assume Scalley will have plenty of input on the hire.

      Kicking the tires on a few guys for sure. Were close on Arbuckle but Okla closed with a trip Sun night. Close on another Mon night…Other programs chasing these guys too so still in flux. Should be more of an open offensive guy though.

        You’d have to think current players and the recruits coming in are aware of the situation and are comfortable with the program. So many guys on this site are doom n gloom and yet the portal/guys sticking with their commitments say otherwise.

        @uf8fl Any idea on a timeframe? I’m sure it’s even more difficult because other teams are now having OC openings as well.

        I’d expect Whitt’s announcement before the OC but that’s just my guess.
        
        Seems to me that it’s the right strategy. No disarray prior to signing day so no flips (and they were trying hard) and kids can still choose to leave with a coaching change (but most classes full at that point).
