I just don’t see the point of piling on. Whichever team eventually drafts him — and he will be drafted — will be getting a steal. And Sanders may likely even end up at a better team. And as this should most certainly humble and motivate him, this could experience could very well benefit his professional career.

I suppose some management teams just don’t want to deal with the spectacle- they would rather focus on getting ready for the season. Apparently his talent has not been deemed spectacular enough to outweigh the circus.

He will get his shot and if he is good enough he will be just fine. Perhaps he will refrain from continuing the Prime pageant- or perhaps his dad will want his jersey retired after his rookie season.

He has flaws in his game that don’t transfer to the NFL as well as character issues.

I really can’t blame Shedeur himself too much – with how involved Deion has been I can imagine a lot of teams being unwilling to take the penalty of having a full-on media circus through the whole year if they can help it. No way he doesn’t go off the board today though

I just want to know how many 5th round draft picks have had their number retired? Is this a first?

That, to me, is one of the oddest things I’ve ever seen in 50+ years watching college football. I have to think that it was purely a political move designed to get Coach Prime to stay on. Otherwise, it’s ridiculous to retire a player’s number on the basis of one good, not great, season. I guess if Coach Prime leaves Colorado in a lurch at a future time, the Buffs can unretire Shedeur Sanders’ number.
