  His comments make it sound like the coaches didn’t really sit down with him and explain exactly why Huntley was named the starter over him. I sure hope that’s not the case. If so, that kind of bothers me. I would like to think the coaching staff is more professional than that.

    No. His comments seem to indicate he thinks he did enough to win the job. That’s understandable. It was a very close race. He still has Tyler’s back.

      If he thinks he did enough to win the job then the coaches didn’t do a very good job of debriefing him as to why that wasn’t the case.
      
      I dunno, maybe I’m reading too much into it, but Josh Furlong seems to have gotten the same impression.
      
      Williams said he doesn't really know why they benched him. Felt he gave it his all this fall.

  No one is saying he didn’t give it his all, or failed to do something he should have. Sometimes, you do your best and just get beat out by someone who is better.
  
  Troy seems like a stand up guy, and I will be very happy if he sticks with the team. I wish him the best, whatever he choses to do.

  Good luck to all of them. I hope Tyler excels but I expect we’ll see Troy at some point. I hope he settles down and nails it.

  Agreed with wayne, I really hope Tyler does well but am expecting to see a lot of Troy too.
  I just hope he doesn’t feel slighted and have it affect him on the field.
  
  I still would’ve preferred to see Troy named the starter with the understanding that Huntley would see a lot more time than last year.

    I tend to agree. Troy is stunned, coaking disappointment back, being a team leader but still processing the decision, and if he is not p**sed now, he will be shortly. On the other hand, if Troy did not see the intangibles that caused Taylor to pull the trigger for Tyler, then Troy needs to have a film session with him to understand 1) why the call was made, and 2) what needs to be done to number 1.
    
    A few weeks ago, on this site or another, I mentioned that I was happy to have Troy the starter, but wanted Tyler to get significan minutes per game. Per game. Need to doubledown on that one. If Taylor’s offense is executed well, then that will happen for a three of Utah’s QBs.
    
    Huntley is a 190 pound scrabbler in a conference with terrifice defenses, that also favors 210-220 pound QBs for a reason. They take the pounding, no pun intended. Troy is gonna get his minutes.
