I had this season as a NIT bid from the start. Competing for an at large at one point was pretty cool.
To go far in a “lesser” tourney was nothing but gravy and Barefield will benefit from this. It is his team now.
Thanks Larry and thank you seniors.
GO UTES!!!
GO RUNNIN’ UTES! Next season could be great with the new kids coming in?
This season was always looking forward to 2018-2019. I really believe this NIT was a huge benefit and we will see some crisp unpaid talent this season.
current redshirt freshmen who I’ve heard is amazing, Timmy Allen (4 star- 247sports), Riley Battin (4 star- espn) a 6’11 PF Thioune, and 2 other 3 stars. i think we will be deep next year. (with addition of Jayce, Tillman, Barefield and anyone else im missing)
Cheers to Utah Basketball ’19
How much for his transcripts and a visit?
Well, next season certainly will be interesting.
– Lots of young, well-regarded players coming in.
– Have read about Doutrive. A late qualifier and a terrific talent.
– Will Barefield become a more consistent, top-flight performer?
– Really like PVD, but he needs to be a more consistent outside threat.
– Interested to see how JJ develops.
– Seeley and Tillman: both have talents, albeit different ones. Would like to see more physicality and BB IQ out of them.
– Caldwell and Pop: Not sure about these two. I cringe every time Caldwell shoots, passes, or dribbles around the perimeter.
– Jokl: he may be a good kid, but he needs to go.
-P12 competitors: I think quite a few programs have top-25 rated incoming recruiting class for 18-19.
Proud of this team. Late additions to the team in December, talent turnover for the previous year, low respect nationally, low expectations for success from the PAC coaches/experts. This team over achieved.
It sure was a lot of fun. Good times.
