Is that Washington? If so, I agree. I think the biggest games for Utah this fall are Arizona and Washington. I won’t accept any other answer.
Beating Arizona is the difference between a 7 win season and a 9 win season.
I think that is the most important game. If we can’t be Arizona, we probably start out 3-4 and that would be a disasterous start.
BUT, the Washington game is a close second. Maybe 1B.
We have two preseason games before hand. Northern Ill is tough, but shouldn’t be for a team that expects to win 9+ this year. Then Washington. We have ALL OFFSEASON to prepare for them.
THEN, we have a bye week right after. So, you can leave it all on the field and then regroup afterwards.
While losing to Washington won’t sink our season like a loss to Arizona would, beating Washington should be expected AND sets us up for a 2 loss regular season, which puts us in contention for the PAC-12 title game.
Lose to Washington and you aren’t winning the PAC-12. The schedule is just too tough. We have it too easy leading up to that game.
BUT, if you lose to Washington and beat Arizona, you can still win 9 games and finish ranked.
So, I have Arizona as the 1A most important game and Washington as 1B.
