They looked overmatched against Iowa. Before this weekend. I was a little nervous about this game, but after watching our defense, I think Utah wins fairly easily.
I’ll say 27-10.
49-15 Utes. Moss with three TDs. I think we see Covey put one in this time on a punt.
Covey is taking one back vs UW. They were terrible on punt returns coverage.
Very good point. I think Petersen trains his punter up some though. He ain’t stupid.
Just like Utah did against Pettis and two missed penalties by referees….yes, I hate refs :)!
Three penalties. Two blocks e in the back, and one Clipping.
Weber was smart they hardly let Covey return a punt. I think teams will do that all year on him. They will kick it away from him or just sky it so he has to fair catch it.
There is always a team that screws up or is possibly arrogant. You get your gunner on Covey you might force a fumble or an injury.
Not that teams ever look scheme to injure a player. (Uhuh never)
And once in a while the kicker will mess up and hit more of a line drive that gets to Covey sooner than the coverage can.
I think same as last week, but less TO’s and Huntley connects on an additional deep ball or two.
48-6
Hostile environment, first road game, long travel etc… I expect a closer game. I think our D will be great so they won’t score much. 20-10 perhaps.
Hostile? Idk bout that. Where is the scouting report on this team?
You think it will be a friendly environment? They’ll be cheering for us to win? hehe.
Their stadium is pretty smallish
When was the last sellout?
IDK, It only holds 24k. I was thinking about going to this road game, but I have a good feeling that Utah will be going to Holiday or Alamo Bowl this year and wanted to save the money for tgat.
Save double what you were planning to save.
We’re going to need to go to Dallas and to Santa Clara a week later.
I’ll have what you are having.
I don’t know when they last sold out, but after the Iowa game I saw some posts on a Husky fan board about skipping the Utah game. One of them suggested attendance would be around 10,000, which would be less than half of capacity. Of course, that could have been nothing more than postgame anger talking.
Anyway, it sounds like they have trouble filling their stadium, and that the poor showing at Iowa did not help. I’m not expecting a huge hostile crowd.
But I will be there. 😀
Season opener around 10-15k. Not exactly hostile is all I am saying.
So is RES
Go away troll.
I’d really like to meet you in person annarborute. I live near A2 and I want to see just how true a Utah fan you are.
He will be a lot of fun after this season after Harbaugh gets fired, and Whittingham does not.
I can see this happening… vastly different expectations.
I’ve never worried about this game. They had one good season like 5 years ago (12-2, beat by 3 TDs in their BCS bowl game by FSU) and badly lost their bowl game to Duke last season. Don’t see this game being much closer than the Weber State game.
One good season?
Over the last 9 years, they’ve gone 85-37 including a five year stretch when they went 11-3, 11-3, 12-2, 12-2, 11-3. They might not be very good this year(based on how bad Iowa beat them) but they have been a great G5 program for the last decade.
I guess “one nationally relevant” season would have been a better choice of words.
I expect a similar situation to the Weber game: We struggle at first with execution, turnovers, drops, etc. First road game is usually like that. After that it will become more or less one-way traffic from then on out. Utah wins by 17+. Local media will call for Whit to be fired based on the slow starts.
