And same with players.
Agreed.
I just went to Calhoun’s X profile where he announced he’s going to the portal, and I was so tempted to respond something like “I wish you nothing, you traitor.”
But I didn’t. I won’t say anything.
But I was tempted. Almost did.
I think many fans have had an attitude of “don’t talk bad to players even if…[Read more]

Same with me.
When I walked out of the Iowa State game, before I got to my car, I heard THREE separate discussions by Ute fans saying they are considering not renewing their season tickets for next season.
At this time, I am leaning on renewing my season tickets and coming back for one more season, but if my interest falls off, I might just…[Read more]

This is something that really, really, really bothers me and we’ve seen it a lot the last few weeks with Whittingham. The whole “He has done so much that he should be able to retire/leave when he wants to!” argument.
I disagree completely. Why are fans the only people asked to be loyal to sports teams? Why is it, “I was born a Philadelphia fan,…[Read more]

so not even 2 weeks ago, he posted a pic of himself on X with the caption “A UTAH MAN AM I” with Smith and Tao tagged as well. Man this shit sucks. This era of college sports is getting real rotten, real damn quick.

I’m actually not though. I’m saying that a religious institution’s primary functions are to obviously educate, but to also spread the faith. This just looks completely bad for a religious institution regardless of whether they are using private donors providing the funds or not, for the reasons I pointed out.
You can hold them to the standard…[Read more]

Did he all of a sudden just change his mind? The DNews reported a couple of days ago that he’d already committed to return in 2025. In fact, as of right now, they’re still reporting this.

This one hurts…I’m ready for some good news. It was a rough season, we had a pretty decent signing classes despite how poorly the year went. I’m ready for some positives.

7 mil for one player. That ought to make for some great locker room chemistry.

They signed as minors. Minors are not able to sign binding agreements.
Can you think of any other situation where a parent signs their kiddo to an agreement where the child will be bound after becoming an adult? It certainly is not common if there is precedent at all.
The courts determined in the cases you cited that the agreements were not…[Read more]

This is how simple this issue is: The Church leader said that the school should not engage in pay to play. Certainly everyone is free in our capitalistic society and wild west ncaa NIL rules to pay someone to play, or to be paid to play. But the statement has been made by the church. Regardless of who paid the young man, he is playing for the…[Read more]

But how exactly is Clark hypocritical? Has he stated that he supports Ryan Smith sponsoring an athlete?
I have no criticism of Clark at all. He simply made a statement about not making Byu a “pay to play” culture. I agree with that statement, given Byu’s mission.
Also, how are BYU fans hypocritical in this?
Byu’s mission is obvious in…[Read more]
