I am going to try and stay positive on the subject. Looking at other schools in the current “NIL” world you absolutely can rebuild a team in one year. Now can Whitt and Co do it? That is the question.

I’ll say this, Whitt seems REALLY motivated and pissed off about last year. I think can be a great thing if it’s channeled correctly and not at his assistants. I think Scalley and Beck being such good friends is another positive in this staff staying cohesive. I’m optimistic. Let’s get to work. Go Utes!

Head coaches and coordinators seem to move before bowl games, position coaches generally finish out the season with their teams and show up later. At least that seems to be how it goes.

I think in today’s reality, players that do not break into their desired playing time consider a quick change. If you bring in a dozen portal players there will be lateral competition not just players behind you for minutes vacated by those ahead. I will never understand the flawless Olympic level mental gymnastics it takes to watch a coach turn two seasons in a row into the challenger spacecraft launch and not only completely ignore it, but behave as if the whole thing went over without a hitch. I can’t tell if I envy or pity the ability to maintain such a fluid relationship with reality.

Well there is Becker and Ficklin who are freshmen. I expect the NM QB and likely another portal QB. Rising might stay for QB3 level NIL. That mix may just be better then this last year.

I don’t know that ASU so much pulled a rabbit out of the hat, Leavitt I think was a Y legacy kid. ASU brought in 3 QBs in the portal, had a derby, and came up with a good QB.
