Disagree. You don’t throw out the baby with the bath water over one bad season.

We haven’t even been at 1 cylinder all season. Hope it happens, but not getting my hopes up.

Yes. Same last year. I think it is probably better to do it early or at the beginning of the football season when everyone is the most excited. 🙂

news flash Aloha Ute, sucking in bowl games could hamper recruiting, lets look at the whole picture here. Utes offense has sucked an changes are needed now.

Thanks, Tony! I think it took awhile to hit the goal this year based solely on the poor performance of the football program.

I think he has made up his mind and is playing the “gamesmanship “ card. At the presser he talked about NIL as being the difference between competing at the highest level or being average. We don’t have the financial backing to get to the next level as very few programs do. To get top portal recruits it takes$$$. If he had the deep pockets to tu…[Read more]

I think you are spot on about Whittingham pride. And, you are probably right that he will not hang it up.
BUT, as for me – I think we need the change ASAP in order to save this program.

Not only was the QB situation mishandled, but over those 20 years the offense has been as well. From a constant churn of offense coordinators to moving your best talent from offense to defense, the offensive side of the equation has always been overlooked by Whitt.
His solution was to bring back Ludwig whose offensive scheme is so complex it…[Read more]

It was around that time when it started, I moved from Hawaii in late 2013 and my username is AlohaUte, so I know I created this account in that time frame. Regardless, this isn’t the only place Ute fans congregate, whether then or now. And a lot of the fans here used to be on UF.N and Twitter.

I love your optimism Utesrule. I guess we will find out Saturday if the team is still fighting.

I’ve been convinced since Fall Camp that this would be Kyle’s last season. But the way he talked about hiring a new OC, I’m not so sure now. I could see him sticking around for one more season to see what he can manage with a new OC and an influx of talent from the portal.

Now that I’m 2 generations away for college kids I can see clearly that the younger generation can’t relate to me. As much as I loved and respected my grandparents I figured they were out of touch. Saban was an anomaly as he put players in the NFL and his age was overlooked. The most successful coaches in college and NFL are the younger 1 gen…[Read more]

If you know Kyle or especially knew his dad Fred, you know that’s a very proud family with lots of pride. Rightfully so. I truly believe the plan was to ride the Rising train to the CFP and then towards the sunset. But, as we all know, this season has gone horrifically sideways. Worse than even the most pessimistic Ute fan would have a…[Read more]

I don’t think UteHub existed in 2012 so of course there were no calls to fire Whitt. I remember on a certain other Utah fan site that there were numerous calls for his head after both 2012 and 2013 seasons. That Whitt was not a PAC 12 level coach, etc.
If Whitt wants to stay and fix this, I think the University owes him that much. If he has…[Read more]

Sincerely, thanks to each and every one who has posted. A lot of good comments and opinions!
Just want to clarify. I AM NOT calling for Coach Whittingham to be fired. No. Not at all! Too good of a coach! Too good of a man who had given his very best to The University, with amazing success. Thank you Coach! No. I am just asking Coach to look…[Read more]

Glorifying a coach and then firing him is not a good look for your program. I think he is done. This year has been hard on him. He expected to go out with a CFP bid and walk away in the sunset. He needs to do what’s best for the program. He is working side by side with Scalley on the new OC which is a good sign.

No thanks on Bronco. We need media friendly and more transparency in the program. “gamesmanship” only sets you up for failure with the fans that support the program. Hopefully Scalley has learned from Whitts mistakes. How about simplifying things for the players and coaches. Our guys seem to be over thinking and hesitating instead of just pla…[Read more]
