Onlyu, with the QB room seemingly set after today, what other position groups do you think we are still trying to bolster through the portal?
Reports that Utah contacted Badger once he entered the portal – which if true wouldn’t have happened until after Alford signed – seem to suggest we might be looking for one more WR?
Some of us were s…[Read more]

How do I feel? Short answer: Great!
But I always feel great about the Utes. As some of you know, I never pick against the Utes, and my optimism is nearly boundless. Never give up, never surrender! Haha! 😆
This is going to be a great year! Go UTES!

I hate hype. I think Utah is better as the scrappy underdog with a chip on their shoulder (ala Steve Smith)
I hope they prove me wrong and live up to this years hype

“Utah fans, most of which haven’t been to the Hunty in years, act like we deserve better.”
Boom…you nailed it with this statement. It hurts but it’s true.
As a STH who rarely misses a game, I have to laugh while I’m sitting at the Hunty, staring at red chairs all around me, while I read comments online about how we need a better coach (costs m…[Read more]

I don’t like hype. For any team, any sport, at any level. I know sports hype is a multi-billion-dollar business, but it’s one I refuse to participate in.
There is too much statistical variance in sports to predict it with any level of accuracy, even for experts. And that’s especially true in football where there are so many injuries.
Just win…[Read more]

I keep things in perspective.
Utah might be the odds-on favorite to win the conference, but using the betting odds that were given translates to about a 23% chance of Utah winning the conference. The next most likely is Kansas State which is about one percent lower. BYU (LOL!!!) has less than a one percent chance of winning the conference.
So,…[Read more]

I feel like this is a very strong team, that should be right at the top of the conference this year if the UBoyz can stay healthy. I don’t think the competition is anywhere close to the Pac the last few years.

Some of you all need to start up some MLM, energy drink and/or e-coin schemes so you can make some largish NIL offers.

I worry less about the hype than about not being able to seize one of the opportunities that we are being given. The program is where it is today because we won a handful of key games in key seasons. Without ’04, there would have been no ’08, and without both ’04 and ’08, there is no PAC-12. We have been so close to reaching outlandish heights,…[Read more]

Huard’s a bit of an enigma at this point. Father and Uncle were both stars at UW and made the league. Played at Kennedy Catholic which, along with Eastside Catholic, gets the top talent in the Puget Sound. Finished off the state career passing record during the Covid spring and the next week started Spring ball at UW. Was undersized and got…[Read more]

It’s great to be in the CFP conversation and strong favorites to win the Big XII, but is the hype making anyone nervous? It might be justified in a way, but should we be the overwhelming favorites entering a new conference (and playing with a target on the back)?
I definitely see us as a strong contender, but don’t think we’re leagues above OSU,…[Read more]

Huard is an Air Raid QB and not particularly mobile. Ludwig’s schemes depend on having a QB who can make something happen with his legs when behind schedule.
That being said, I agree it’s a good pickup. As long as Huard is over the 4 pick debacle against WSU his freshman year, he provides starting experience should Rising get dinged up without…[Read more]

Could also get minutes from Caleb Lohner, the new FB TE with BB skills.

I agree. If we weren’t about to join the Big12 I’d actually be pretty happy with what Smith has done this offseason. Not perfect, but pretty good.

Could it be possible that the MBB team is looking for better days? I like Keller, Utah wanted him quite a bit out of HS. May give us more minutes than Kata and could approach Braden, maybe. Little, I think, is equal to my expectations for Smith last year before we saw him play. Dawes seems to have potential much like starters we have had in the…[Read more]

Wilson’s surgery is the big wild card. Who knows if Wilson will be ready to go next year.

Gotta think he chose Utah due to an open QB competition after this season. I still think this will be Wilson’s team next year, so it’s a risk for Huard. Great pick up for the Utes!

Didn’t Coach Smith recruit Tavion and Keita (not to mention kept BC on board)?
Utah fans, most of which haven’t been to the Hunty in years, act like we deserve better. It’s easy to point to the loses the program has had, but easier to forget about the wins.
Fact is, as long as we aren’t support it, we have no room to talk.
