Attacking a kid before he arrives is always good look.

Concerns about his attitude? Possibly.
Worth the risk? Definitely.
I’ll trust AJ and the staff to mold him into a team player better than Pearl & Co. did.

Buyouts in NIL contracts
Restricting transferring (they come up with some reason – family issue, coach abusive, mental health) seems to be a no go with a lawsuit. Although SEC requires year off if you change SEC school – so not sure how that is enforceable. I think 1 transfer ‘free’ OR if coach leaves.
1 transfer window, not 2. Timing also is…[Read more]

He didn’t have a transfer rating but here’s his high school recruiting information.
88 247 rating with a few nice offers.

JC Hart to Utah. High 3-star high school rating.
Nice!

Utah Man,
I don’t have great info for you other than coaches being impressed with Williams, Caldarella, Whittemore, Tia and Glover throughout spring. Of those, Williams has separated himself; but I don’t know the pecking order. I’ll see what I can find out. I would think Zipperer and Washington will get in the mix. I’d hate to see Zipperer…[Read more] -

I saw Zipperer on the sidelines, just didn’t play. Most starters didn’t, but not sure if he is considered a starter?

Obviously our new coach, that we all begged Harlen to hire, is incapable of doing his due diligence in recruiting players – at least if many here are to be believed. To that end, I’m mystified by the continuing Harlan hate. I think he’s done an excellent job as AD when looking across the board at the entire department and program. Women and men…[Read more]

Did Zipperer play yesterday? I don’t remember seeing him on the field

Williams, Zipperer, Davis, Whittemore are the top receivers. It’s possible King enters the portal because of digression in spring.

Dallin Bentley is the starter. Landon King and Hunter Andrews will play alot. Landon will be all right. He’s working hard.

I totally agree with that…in fact, you could make the case that the reason that BYU lost the games they did was due to Retzlaff’s poor play. He was absolutely horrible versus Kansas and ASU.

Reading through posts on the Auburn board, there are perceived issues with behavior and attitude, but here’s a kid that was All-Everything going to a team full of All Everythings and had trouble adjusting to that. This just has a feel of going one of 2 ways. Either the centerpiece of our team and maybe all All-League performer to being no longer…[Read more]

You really should go watch the docuseries before making such an uninformed comment.

This late in the portal game, Utah BB has little choice to fill a roster. AJ’s going to take some risk with bad attitude talent. He’s dealt with plenty of mental hopscotch with players in the G league and NBA. He will set expectations with players and not tolerate toxic behavior. Probably a last chance for this kid. Alex and his staff have dee…[Read more]

He definitely has some maturing to do.
Alex will give him an opportunity but make no mistake he won’t be a distraction.
The risk reward is worth it. Howard might be the best athlete in college basketball.
Alex is going to be a disciplinarian.

Actually, pro athletes (and specifically NFL players) do not hold out for more money “all of the time.” If you do a Google search on the subject, you’ll see that the actual number of players holding out on a year-to-year basis is minuscule compared to the player population at large. The only reason why any player holding out creates a splash is…[Read more]
