People keep referring to some advantage Utah has because of the bye week. Do they not understand that the parochial school also had last week off?

Is that the motto for the Department of Redundancy Department?

Every person that doesn’t go to BYU should read cougarboard at least once. BYU humor is only funny to them. The rest of the world would cringe. They wonder why nobody likes them. It’s like a bunch of jr high kids on a chat board.

Been checking out the CB board this week to check out the TDS smack talk. Talking smack is ok, that’s expected, but there is some real vile stuff about the University and our players/coaches/students/fans. IMO, just way overboard. Here’s a couple:

Went out to Wendover this morning. Dropped $100 on BYU and $50 on the Texans Sunday night. Utes and Lions are my teams so I guess I win regardless of any outcome.

Might be one thing that could help Utah and/or hurt BYU. I still stand by that fact that on paper Utah is the more talented team in almost every category. Have they performed that way? No, a big hell no. But the talent is there. Nobody believes in them, nobody is picking them. They’ve had two weeks to figure something out. This team has a lot of talent! Put the pieces together and run the ball and get some passes out to Singer and Kuithe. BYU has a mountain of pressure on their shoulders. Play it tough and they that pressure will build.

There is a comment above about no BYU fan thinks they are going to blow Utah out. Except that I have seen many on X that think that. But I imagine most BYU fans realize that most likely the game will be a dog fight – probably down to the last few minutes of the game to determine the winner.

I legit had a dream last night that I forgot about the game and turned it on near the end; the score was 42-0 Utah.

Utah was 83% at the free throw line last night which felt better than last year. Watching to see what Mason Madsen is like. He was ordinary his first 2 years but last year was something like 95% but over only 20 something attempts. No BYU fan I know thinks that. We are all super nervous for this game. We haven’t beaten Utah convincingly since 1996, and we haven’t won in RES since 2006. I’ll be happy if we win by one point. I think Utah has been playing below our abilities (even with injuries) and BYU a bit above theirs. But momentum and confidence are sky high for the Cougars and rather low for Utah.

My heart is with Utah, and will be there tomorrow night to cheer for my team, but will be quite pleasantly surprised if we can pull this one off.
