Went out to Wendover this morning. Dropped $100 on BYU and $50 on the Texans Sunday night. Utes and Lions are my teams so I guess I win regardless of any outcome.

There is a comment above about no BYU fan thinks they are going to blow Utah out. Except that I have seen many on X that think that. But I imagine most BYU fans realize that most likely the game will be a dog fight – probably down to the last few minutes of the game to determine the winner.

I legit had a dream last night that I forgot about the game and turned it on near the end; the score was 42-0 Utah.

Utah was 83% at the free throw line last night which felt better than last year. Watching to see what Mason Madsen is like. He was ordinary his first 2 years but last year was something like 95% but over only 20 something attempts. No BYU fan I know thinks that. We are all super nervous for this game. We haven’t beaten Utah convincingly since 1996, and we haven’t won in RES since 2006. I’ll be happy if we win by one point. I think Utah has been playing below our abilities (even with injuries) and BYU a bit above theirs. But momentum and confidence are sky high for the Cougars and rather low for Utah.

My heart is with Utah, and will be there tomorrow night to cheer for my team, but will be quite pleasantly surprised if we can pull this one off.

The Utes do not have a single player as good as Smith or Carlson last year, however, the first part of the team 1 thru 10 likely is better. Sat through two doinks over the years. First was Kenashiro (for Utah) damned good kicker but had horrible timing on the few kicks he missed (in San Diego in OT and in Rice-Eccles against BYU. Other was the 2012 one (students rushed the field 3 times)

I’m still trying to get warm from the 2003 game. My sister and I bought tickets off of ebay from some TDS student. We froze, but loved it.

2012. The sound of the *doink* when BYU hit the upright on that last field goal was incredible. Very stressful final few minutes, but so fun.
