Good authority? That’s the most useless statement in this day and age. I live one street away from his family. There was zero interest in heading to the U.
“Good authority, that’s a clown comment Bro.”

I hope Scalley has learned some lessons on this- better in state recruiting, and not missing stud qbs.

don’t eat any. Your reasoning at that point in time was as valid as mine.
I’m just at the “root for chaos” point of the season

Then he didn’t need to commit to Utah. But that doesn’t preclude Utah from offering which is all anyone is questioning in retrospect.
The only reason to not offer is if you are afraid he might accept. And based on the results of the 3 times I know of where Utah agreed to stop recruiting the position if a kid committed (Tuttle, Costelli,…[Read more]

or they could have played with fire enough that they got burned

Not true … Jax absolutely wanted to be a Ute, but Utah botched his recruitment. As referenced before, Utah didn’t want to offend Costelli and offered Jax quietly too late in his recruitment. I have it on very good record this is how it played out. Jaxson to this day hates Utah because of how his recruitment played out.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Georgia Tech in the forum Football 7 months ago
Miami is one to be a one and done team in the playoffs. And that’s if they actually make it. The ACC isn’t a great football conference and though they have won all of their games so far, they’ve looked pretty mediocre against middling competition. Wow, and just as I was typing this, Ward fumbled the ball to salt the game away for Tech. See what I mean?

Pressure is on BYU. Utah has a different kind of pressure. Losing a 5th game in a row and to BYU at home may cause another wave of unhappy Utah fans if we see the same listless QB play, dropped passes, and missed blocks. I think we’ll see where it’s headed early in the first quarter after the initial game emotion wears off.

And sometimes where dad played does the opposite for a kid. They want their own path.

I think we can all agree that Whitt seems to do best, historically speaking, when he and the Utes are underdogs.

I like the hunter. We just need a few dawgs on the field to tree the cougars.

His Dad played DB at Utah and was a very good player. I think if they had started early and kept after him, they would have had a great chance at landing him. No long trips, he was just up the road in Kaysville.
Just another example of less than stellar recruiting of the QB position.
