  • So much of sports, especially football, is mental. The continual fortitude and commitment it takes. Which has been a hallmark of Whitt teams. Even in disappointing years. But this team whether consciously or subconsciously is full of guys half assing it for a variety of reasons. Politics, other guys NIL or playing time. Defense sick and tired of…[Read more]

How does an interior lineman have that bad of pass blocking? Unless he’s injured, just don’t let anyone come flying straight up the middle. You’re an athletic 300+ pound beast. How is that happening?

  • Seems to me like the biggest factor in the “bad” seasons we’ve had last year and this year is injuries. I know coach has tried to implement different levels of contact in fall and different training techniques to keep the team fresh and injury free, but it seems that what we’ve done for the last 2 seasons didn’t work.

    Shouldn’t our strength and…[Read more]

  • Winning solves everything.

  • Love the sense of humor! Seems like a nice guy and he reminds me a lot of Andy.

  • I hope we do. I have dreams at night about Wilson occasionally running the option with Micah or Money as the pitch man. That would go a long way towards keeping the defense from teeing off on our interior run game.

  • I’ve been a Ute BB and FB fan since the mid 60’s. From Jack Gardner (milk bottle under his seat) to Majerus. Basketball was king. Sellout crowds and national relevance. Football a .500 winning pct. was a good year and making a bowl game was a special year.

McBride brought back hope for football. Urban took us to the next level (with an inn…[Read more]

The game has passed him by. He’s not evolving with the changes he’s to set in his ways.

He was supposed to ride off into the sunset after a big12 championship and playoff run but now these last two seasons are going to tarnish his legacy.

If he can beat byu at least he’ll have scoreboard over the Zoobs when he retires.

Last year and this year have been tough, and it is hard to pinpoint exactly why. We have had a ton of injuries that could be impacting this more than is apparently, or it could be a coaching issue. I am not sure that a change at OC is really going to change much… but I guess we will see. Overall, whether it is time for Whitt to go or not… I…[Read more]

Yeah I played that course a few times.

I booed several times. Every time was because of predictable play calls that the TCU defense stuffed. It was practically joke-worthy.

  • But I’ll update it anyway. Here is a selection of game-by-game points given up by our opponents this season (I’ve added TCU and updated each line with last week’s results):

    – Baylor vs P4 opponents: 23, 38, 34, 43, 35
    – USU vs FBS opponents: 48, 38, 45, 62, 50, 50
    – OKState vs P4 opponents: 31, 22, 42, 38, 38
    – Arizona vs FBS opponents: 39, 31, [Read more]

There’s the way things are and the way you wish them to be. Cruel reality will tell you that Whitt has three seasons remaining on his contract. In addition, if you watched yesterday’s press conference, you’d have seen a guy that’s firmly entrenched in his job and has no plans to leave any time soon. I mean, when asked if Bajakian was the…[Read more]

Since Saturday I have talked to many of my fellow Utes. (Some I know and others I met yesterday who I do not know). 100% of the people I talked to feel Whitt should go at the end of the season. I know this in no way is a valid poll. But, I found it interesting that everyone loves Whitt and what he has done for Utah football. However, they all…[Read more]

The MUSS chanted “Fire Ludwig” at one point during the TCU game.

I didn’t hear the MUSS chant anything negative related to Isaac or any player at any time during the TCU game.

I hope the players didn’t take the booing hard, I think a majority of it was directed at the coaches.

Moko has been very disappointing so far this season. He was replaced by Moeia who was just as bad. Falcon was the 3rd RG of the game and performed pretty well.

I think the interaction with fans and media have changed a lot and not in a good way. With social media, every word coach said would be disected and broadcast on social media. Often people would add on their own interpretation to gain more attention. Majority of the fanbase just wantt to hear but there is no way to filter out information to…[Read more]

As someone in the student section, there was never a fire Isaac chant… there were only “Let’s go Isaac”

Whatever resurgence the offense is going to have for the second half of the season will need to start with the O-line. I hope they are up to the task, because if not, this offense is going nowhere.
