It’s quite simple really. We are a terrible team. We lose to them at home, yet other teams seem to have zero problem disposing of them, even on the road. The singular exception is us.

Multiple trips to the red zone with no points in the first half of that game put is in a position to have to try and play from behind in the second half. Throw in a freshman QB with the inevitable mistakes trying to be aggressive in the “throw game” and you get a big fat loss.

Fifita wanted to play for Utah his whole life and now makes us pay for not offering him.

The problem is that if USC doesn’t start winning ASAP. pretty soon they’ll have crowds around 10K at the Coliseum. That’s the problem when you’re a program in a huge city with great weather. You’re not the only Coca-Cola in the desert and people will just tune you out.

You think Cignetti will get poached? By whom? We had a conversation about him recently here. He’s almost as old as Whitt and is in his first year of a contract that runs through the 2029 season. I agree, but how do you differentiate between a Cignetti and a Napier? Frost seemed like a great hire at the time, but we saw how that unfolded. Dabo and Day were promoted from within and have thrived. Whether hiring internally or externally, there are only a handful of truly great coaches out there.

Yup, Scalley becoming HC will likely be the final nail in the coffin for Utah.

and not an in-house hire who spent multiple years as the Head Coach in Waiting. I keep saying that there are good coaches out there if you are willing to find them.

luck in a single instance can be true but it’s not sustainable over the long term. at some point you have to credit their focus and preparation. things can turn around for them just as quickly but I wouldn’t attribute that to bad luck.
