Ludwig is the root of the issue, not Wilson.

This offense is terrible. We have three TDs in the last three weeks against weak defenses.
I’m sorry, but Whitt has lost his edge and I now think it is time that he hangs it up. These guys came out flat last night. It was nauseating.
Ludwig is the offensive coordinator and QB coach. He is responsible for this mess. He can’t develop QBs. He…[Read more]

Nah, don’t think it changes the outcome – but roughing is a player safety issue and if you confer and come up with running into the kicker as a conclusion there, you’re a shitty ref.
One thing I’ve noticed about the big 12 refs is they seem to allow more physical play, especially in the secondary. We don’t seem to be adjusting to it well

Fans of teams that are winning right now probably don’t think NIL, lack of structure, the anarchy, and lack of predictability are taking all the fun out of college sports.

All throughout sports history, highly successful coaches have been fired when they were no longer effective in their current situation. The notion that what you currently have is the best you can ever aspire to runs counter to everything that makes sports great.
To borrow from Biology 101, a cell in stasis is a cell that is inhibited from growing.

Yeah, I was shocked to see that. Tony Bennett is only 55 and has already won a NC. I remember when he started at Wazzu. He won’t be the only one. NIL, the lack of structure, the anarchy, the lack of predictability, is really starting to take all of the fun out of college sports. It’s almost like we’re returning to a sort of feudalism, where…[Read more]

Woof! This is a very bad product, folks. It is very evident the coaching staff has lost the locker room, which is concerning because Scalley is included in that statement. This isn’t something that occurred overnight. The foundation for mediocrity is starting to form.
1. Whittingham needs to retire. He built his reputation/legacy on motivating…[Read more]

It was a bad call- but would it have made a difference? We would have had one more set of downs before we punted again?

Looking at this remaining schedule and our putrid offense, we are looking at an 8 game losing streak this year.

The refs blew the call, plain and simple. It happens.

There isn’t anything parochial school fan can say that will ever faze me. If I would never go to that person, or group, for advice why would their criticism matter?

How he adapted a scheme to fit and work with a D2 QB and MW talent that got us to within 3 missed FG of a PAC South title, won 9 game including a bowl game was a masterclass.
Andy Ludwig can’t do that. He’s not capable.

You just know it.. there will be no firings, no changes to coaching assignments, no QB re-evaluation, no scheme changes, no changes to play-calling.. absolutely nothing.. there is no evidence to suggest anything will change.

If the last two years are only “close” to fireable, then what does that truly look like? You and I had long conversations on here in early 2023 about how bringing Rising back would screw up the QB room for multiple seasons. If a couple of armchair analysts could predict this exact outcome, how much worse does it have to get before enough was too…[Read more]

I hope IW didn’t think those boos were directed at him last night. I support the kid 100%.
Give him a game plan that he wants to run. What is he comfortable with, what does he like.
This BS rhetoric that Lud designs scheme and calls plays to fit players is an outright lie. And counter a blitz for crying out loud.
Ludwig and Whitt need to go. T…[Read more]

Well, credit to Whitt and Lud for seeing something in those QBs that other programs didn’t and developing them into something. None of those players came to Utah as the finished article so Whitt and Lud have to get some credit for getting them to the top. That being said, the way the QB room has been mismanaged during the last two seasons is…[Read more]
