2008 National Champ replied to the topic My dream coaching staff in the forum Football 9 months ago
Luther had ~ 10 years of coaching experience before coming back. Ganther has coached elsewhere. I’m not against former Utah players per se. But only if they have proven themselves as coaches first. Utah football shouldn’t be a jobs program.

Everyone is slamming Miami yet he’s not wrong. This team is on the cuspose of mediocrity and its depressing. Everything seems to be falling apart and it’s frustrating watching the decline!
Yes NIL is going to ruin this game. We’re seing it across the board. It’s semi pro football now without regulation. The top Blue Bloods will always pull…[Read more]

Well than….I completely understand that after Rising our perspective is only IW. I just am not on board with riding that horse, because that is all we know. Take it or leave it. However we better have something between IW,Huard, Rose, Becker. If not we are in for a very mediocre period of Utah football. It won’t be too long before we see…[Read more]

You sure about that? I know that he worked as a consultant during BYU’s Spring camp but didn’t know that he was on the staff.

no no no on G Anderson, Shitake Rodrick or any byu has bens. we need some new blood in there. there are a ton of up and coming offensive and defensive minded coaches out there that would love to be on the Utah coaching staff. we need to move on past the old guard, and while we are at Cam Rising as well. bye all and lets start anew

I will still be here and RES even if Utah finishes 4-8. Hope springs eternal.

I don’t think you forget how to coach defense. It won’t be him but I think he is a good coach, he is currently working as a defensive analyst at BYU.

Do you know if Isaac was offered by USC?

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Aaron Dunn Decommits in the forum Football 9 months ago
I’ve already said that USC doesn’t devote a significant amount of NIL to incoming HS recruits. Maybe they got him because they’re in the P2, have a much bigger brand than Utah, and promised to take care of him if he delivered? It makes sense to me. Why would USC, or any other big time program, devote large amounts of NIL on unproven players…[Read more]

No one.

USC doesn’t pay much NIL to HS recruits. They prefer to pay mature, upperclassmen from the transfer portal who can contribute immediately. Dunn might well go to USC but it’s highly unlikely that the Trojans made him a financial offer that he can’t refuse.

Meh. I predict he’ll be back with 3 years eligibility remaining.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Aaron Dunn Decommits in the forum Football 9 months ago
Dunn going to USC will be interesting. The reason is because USC has a history of not paying much (or stiffing) NIL to HS recruits. The LA Times did a long version story on this issue earlier this year. Riley has also said publicly many times that USC’s method is to reserve its high NIL payouts to guys from the portal who have already proven…[Read more]

I agree with Miami Ute. some things that are common sense here.
got to win games, score points, be fun to watch, score in red zone.
who wants to play for a team averaging 14 points a game -
The Miami Ute replied to the topic Aaron Dunn Decommits in the forum Football 9 months ago
Utah has to win, and win big, plus have a healthy infusion of NIL dollars if it wants to get the same type of recruits it was getting as the PAC ended. If all we’re doing is going 7-5/9-3, without regular appearances in the CFP, then it’s going to be very hard to be attractive blue-chippers.

Andersen has been out of football for, what, 2-3 years? His last gig was working as an analyst under Jay Hill at Weber State. Yeah, I’d be scratching my head if that’s who the next DC was.

We’re going to lose players to other schools due to NIL, blue bloods, or maybe they have hotter coeds. It’s just going to happen.
