He has a contract in place that that says he’ll be promoted to the HC when Whittingham retires. Of course, contracts can be voided, just requires money and some backstabbing.

Maybe, but Jay hill is a more proven winner at this point. Scalley has never been a HC. Yes it was Weber, but Jay Hill did an excellent job at Weber. He has ttds playing really good defense this year and greatly overachieving why Scalley is doing the opposite.

Why is Scalley an automatic for the HC position? Why can’t we have a legit coaching search when the time comes?

He isn’t on the hot seat at all and he is probably retiring soon, but I wouldn’t give him an extension unless things improve. I also wouldn’t give Scalley the job at this point, but that has been decided.

Washington was invited to the Holiday Bowl I. 84 and refused. They beat Byu they would have been #1, but they chose money in the Orange Bowl and a blue blood opponent in oklahoma. Byu could have very well beat Washington, and in fact spanked them 31-3 in the 3rd game of 85 season.

You’re probably right. I’m sure the defense just seems worse than usual because they’ve given up backbreaking big plays in both of the losses. The two Fifita throws and the two Skattebo runs were just killshots.

Every year there are missed tackles, receivers wide open, QB’s extending plays because D Ends lose contain. It just looks worse right now because it’s in the moment AND there isn’t a margin for error. Neither of the Skattebo breakaway runs are backbreakers in a 38-14 game but they absolutely make the difference when down by 1 or up by 3.
