I went through the list on 247’s scholarship distribution and it looks like Utah is currently at the 85 limit.
88 names listed but Mikey Matthews is on twice. Clegg, Fonoimoana and Helu are all listed but expected to go immediately on their missions. Carvaiho is also listed but has not signed to date. I think he might end up as a PWO if he comes at all so for now I’m not going to count him. That puts it at 83.
Battle has already enrolled and is on the list and I would expect L. Fano and Damuni to join in either spring or summer so that gets it up to 85. I wouldn’t expect Becker to be on scholarship, at least until he proves himself.
That leaves 6 question marks who, if they decide to move on, would open up spots for more transfers or late signees. Fua Pututau is still listed but did not play after Florida and I thought both he and Tennessee (not listed) medically retired. You also have Kuithe, Rising, Yassmin, Curry and Vele who have eligibility but there is talk of them being done at Utah.
One spot will be required for Sione Fotu to come back (Pututau’s?). After that, I don’t think Utah brings in anyone else unless someone leaves.

Lomu is close friends with Lyons, and they were both at the All American game together along with Hunter Clegg and Spencer Fano, both good friends with Lyons as well. I’m sure they all got to talking, and our boys i’m sure have been recruting him. I posted it because I do put some stock into it, why would he tweet that if it wasn’t gonna happen?
Smith is starting to turn the program around, and doing it almost entirely with player development rather than recruiting. Carlson looks to have added strength for the first time in his career. Stefanovic and Madsen have both taken huge steps forward, and the team as a whole is playing better together. That is a big change from what we saw with LK, which was getting highly regarded recruits that somehow got worse year over year. The only real exception to that was Jakob Poeltl, who improved immensely in his time at the U.
It will be interesting to see what Smith can do with Keita over the next few years.

Yeah was wanting to ask the same question but didn’t want to take away from tearly si
Does any one know who the third transfer commitment is that Kyle referenced but couldn’t talk about in his press conference?
Fano and Damuni were the two everyone know about, but Kyle referenced a third.
Levani was on with Riley recently & stated he won’t be on campus till this summer.

I haven’t found if Logan Fano has signed with us yet. That goes for Levani Damuni as well. Can’t remember if transfers have to sign in the same way as HS recruits, does anyone have info on if these 2 guys are officially with us now?
Fano, Blocker and Lomu I think have the ability to come in and get early playing time. I think Snowden running track in the spring will hamper his some heading into Summer conditioning. Damuni is the obvious answer from the portal.
Mitchell, Stanley and Randle…whoo boy! Not sure how you separate those guys today but that RB room next year is loaded. Someone’s gonna get some carries but I have no idea who.
