ParticipantI’m with you steel. Jumping ship to your rival is not a good look. Fano brothers and Daily coming over from TDS definitely lit a fire under them. Players just want to get paid more but coaches and fans take it personally. Whitt and Scalley have to be upset and highly motivated to beat them next year.

ParticipantHard to tell what impact Clegg will have on both schools. I’ll take Fano and Dailey (BYU flips) over Clegg. Sounds like he wants the BYU experience. Some want to stay living in the bubble and some want to get out of the bubble. I don’t think money has anything to do with it.

ParticipantAgreed. I used to have fun with Byu fans that I worked with back in the MWC days. Not now.
I was somewhat excited to be back in the same conference when it was announced we were joining the XII. But that was just delusional me trying to be positive about things.
I can’t stand being in the same conference as them now. For too many reasons to list. I’m sure they feel the same about us.
As far as Clegg goes, my guess is that is what got the Washington DE Holtzclaw to commit. While Holtzclaw doesn’t have the same high school rating as high as Clegg, he does have playing experience. Clegg has yet to sack a QB in college ball. And he has mission rust to work off. Not saying he won’t be good for Byu, but we got a good deal out of it with Holtzclaw. And I’ll take it. Besides put Clegg up against Fano or Lomu and I’ll take that match up any day.

ParticipantHonestly, he’s probably a depth play and for the future. He’s probably not ready yet, butif/when Fano declares after this year, it’ll be nice to have someone ready to slide in

ParticipantWho knows, maybe one of Lomu. Fano, or last year’s big recruit Isiah Garcia, can move inside to guard or center

ParticipantI agree. The offensive line was about the ONLY positive on that side of the ball this season. Lomu and Fano are complete studs. Harding is a very good offensive line coach.

ParticipantI really don’t think Harding as bad. Fano and Lomu are good. Togiai is solid. Center and RG were tough with Mokofisi and Kump, who need to be replaced if possible. It also sucks that our entire offense (players and coaches) was inept except for Singer, Bernard, and Kuithe. He hasn’t done anything to warrant being fired, but he should really try to make a change at the aforementioned OL positions.

ParticipantIt is true this happened, but it also true that there were MANY times where we would have the center and guard double teaming a tackle, while the middle of the field is left wide open for the RB & QB to get destroyed.
Or they would just get beat 1v1.
Tackles used to be an issue, now they are our strength and center/guard is an issue.
Also, Fano was a top flight recruit, just like Boles, why are we giving Harding credit? Where’s the development for more project guys like Falcon or Williams?
