The Utah O is currently sitting at 107th nationally in passing yardage, 69th in rushing yardage, and 106th in points scored. And this is against two relatively lousy and one average team.
Utah only managed 3 offensive TD’s against a putrid Fresno D, with one on a play action pass in garbage time. Utah only out-gained Fresno by 15 yards. Special teams play was the difference and I don’t expect Utah to score 3 non-offensive TD’s against Oregon. Utah only out-gained USU by 46 yards . Even lousy Washington with a Freshman QB out-gained USU by 188 yards.
Somehow this Utah D is worse than last year despite all the returning talent. And the O is downright dreadful. It really is the Devonte Booker show. Utah loses big unless there are a pair of talented WR’s, a QB that can pass, and a creative play caller hidden on the bench somewhere.

But even with BJohnson in 2008 – there were times our offense was terrible. I remember a game where Johnson was responsible for 3 turnovers I think…but we still got it done at the end of the day. The only thing that matters when its all said and done is how many W’s can be counted.

First there are only three games with ticket prices higher, maybe four, than the Oregon – Utah game this weekend, according to their “XX tickets available on Stubhub for $83”
Two or three are SEC games between an unranked opponent or two unranked opponents. Then Maryland – WVU, there is nothing else to do in Morgantown. However some of those games with higher ticket prices have less tickets available. There are about 840 available for the Utah game.
Second oddball bit I picked up, Utah has offered quite a few players for next year who also have offers from SEC, BigXII and Pac-12 schools. I hate the fact they list offers alphabetically, because if I see that stupid A of Alabama on one more recruit we’ve offered I’m gonna barf. However it seems there are quite a few players from TX, FL, LA, and CA which are “considering us” so that is good.
Problem is I didn’t see many visits scheduled to Utah for these “offered” kids. Is that a problem?
Bill and OC are the only sports radio show in the state as far as I’m concerned. The only preset for sports radio I have.

I don’t know what windbags I caught on my way home from fishing yesterday, but they had Trevor Reiley on, and aside from asking him about his near sack on MNF, they asked him a string of questions about BYU. Talk about insulting. If I were Trevor I would have said, ‘this s**t’s done’ and hung up. Why invite a former player on only ask him a bunch of questions about the ‘other’ team, you know, the one he didn’t play for? Seems like an insulting way to treat a former player.
aside from situational plays……… the only way he gets action this year is if there’s a blowout one way or the other

Well I think Wilson will keep games close so with him as starter Hansen will probably only see the field in situation plays.
Against Fresno St that was trademark Thompson. The game would have been very close if not for the defense scoring and special teams. Thompson literally had nothing to do with the outcome of the game other than making it closer than it needed to me. Redzone interception? Uggh and the exchange? When that exchange happened I was still stunned he was in the game. Hansen could have been in making those mistakes and I would have been fine with it. Thompson is a senior.
I think it just goes to show the continued mishandling of the MOST important position in football. BUT..a big BUT it isn’t the most important position for this team.
