The heat and humidity kicked my butt today. I’m sure our players are in better shape than this old man. I have to say the locals I hung out with were as hit by the humidity as much as I was. So, remember the Gators have to play in this weather too.
The the only thing that bothers me is the lightning. Most high school games in this area were canceled tonight The possibility of a weather delay seems fairly likely
Go Utes!!!
I know you didn’t ask me…. But I’ll tell you haha.
1. He got too big for Utah and wasn’t going to stay, and that bothered me. And I feel I have a right to be bothered by that.
2. He bailed on the team last year. People in the know said not even Quinn could get to him by the end of last year.
3. It’s pathetic that he couldn’t embrace playing with Rudy. There hasn’t been a dude ever that has impacted winning so much but wouldn’t take the ball out of your hands like Rudy. And he couldn’t play with that? It’s a tremendous indictment that he didn’t average 3-4 assists a game to Rudy on the pick in roll. The only way that happens is if you say, $&!$ that. And we were worse because of it.
So good riddance. Let’s get the new era rolling!
I do not live in Salt Lake. I attended school there. My connection to the Jazz only involves seeing the Karl Malone fast food ten-wheelers around town and a Grateful Dead show in their arena. College basketball is where it’s at for me, and this fellow has no connection to the any of the college teams I follow. He was basically a one-and-done at Louisville under Pitino…
On our flight to Orlando there were over 50 Ute fans wearing Ute’s gear. We saw only one BYU fan. Utah is well represented here in Florida.
Go Utes!!!
in a matchup of similar measurables, heart and talent are usually the decider. When the measurables and (assumed) talent level favor one side, heart only matters in an upset.
My absolute favorite. The only thing I’d like better is the drum and feather logo on the helmet.
I love the White and Red look. That’s Utah. I’m not a fan of black on our uniforms.
A lot of speculation that Guidry will get picked up by another team fairly quickly. We’ll see though.
TJ Pledger and Brian Allen sor far.
I think the DL is plenty deep but I do think the player makeup is a little different. Guys like Fotu and Pepa will likely start out on the scout team and they’re talented. Might be a slight trade off from size to speed/quickness and the ability to generate pressure, which I think we’re better prepared for this year. That said, there isn’t a huge disparity in size difference YOY, probably 10-15 lbs on average is all so not sure we’ll even notice it outside of increased pressure in the middle of the field.
Why isn’t Gabe Reid in the two deep? Is there a nagging injury? OnlyU implied there may be a few injuries for game 1.
