Does he follow Riley to USC? Hard to imagine he won’t.

Wow!  Didn’t see that one coming.  He is a SoCal kid though.  Wonder what Dart does then?

Williams is actually from Washington DC.

If he ends up at USC than I would think that Dart leaves USC.

In any case the Utah vs. USC rivalry is going to be a good one.

          Go UTES!!!

You are right.  I was thinking about the Bama kid.  Still crazy that a starting QB on a top 5 program would want to transfer.  Especially since I think they made a solid coaching hire and don’t enter the SEC for another two years.  They have a real shot at the playoffs and a national championship as they currently stand.

He’ll probably go to the highest bidder. Lot of Twitter rumors that UGA has a $1-2 million NIL deal lined up for him. He also mentioned in his announcement that staying at OU is on the table, so we’ll see if they can scrounge up some bags of money for him.

This is what I’ve been hearing. Basically a free agent who will go to whoever drops the biggest NIL bag for him. And who wouldn’t drop $2 million for him? The guy has 2 years left minimum with heisman-level expectations. Guys like that almost never come around, even in the era of the transfer portal. This could also have a domino effect if he moves to a different blue blood who has a few high-level recruits coming in that get scared off by William’s arrival.

So this kid is handed a bag of cash by the highest bidder. At some point the NFL is going to say bye bye to the NCAA and lift the must be out of high school to play in the NFL agreement. Not sure how the three year rule works, but I’m guessing it came from the NCAA to preserve the revenue stream colleges rely on from football keeping kids in school for 2-3 years. At some point, the NCAA/college football could very well be headed the way of minor league baseball and hockey system, or some version of it.

The top level football players and NFL are realizing it’s time to capture the billions of dollars the media, sponsors, and the schools are making off these college athletes. The upside is it may bring some parity to college football at the expense of many schools unable to sustain the costs of a football program. Going to get interesting.

The NFL has no interest in investing the time, money, and other resources developing high school kids into NFL ready players. College is where high school KIDS spend three years maturing into GROWN MEN ready for the physicality of the NFL.

I’ll be surprised if a dozen or so FBS programs haven’t folded shop in ten years.

Actually the three-year rule came from the NFL. They didn’t want talented high school kids getting killed (literally) in the NFL.

The NFL doesn’t want to pay the costs of a developmental league like minor league baseball since the College system already does it for them.
