Devin Lloyd will be the 22 overall pick tomorrow
This would make me very happy as a Packer fan, but I don’t think he gets past NE at 21.
This guy seems to think he’ll slip to the Packers anyway, but at #28: https://www.nfl.com/news/peter-schrager-2022-nfl-mock-draft-3-0-eagles-packers-trade-up-for-wide-receiver
This would be a steal if he was there that late in the 1st round.
He would be an absolute steal at 28. He is “slipping” because of stiff drills at the combine. You have years of game tape and yet GMs still fall in love with workout numbers. Its not surprising there have been so many busts over the years.
I agree. A lot of the “intangibles” get lost when the GMs are presented with a ton of physical measurements and performance stats, from events like the combine. I guess you can blame the late 60s Dallas Cowboys and Moneyball types for that. Lloyd is definitely a “gamer” and has the intangibles like toughness, eye for the ball, etc. If he slips I hope the Packers grab him at 28, they’re likely going for a WR with their earlier pick. Or they might package the 2 picks to move up for a better WR, who knows what deals will be done. Just hope Lloyd doesn’t somehow slip out of the first round. Good luck, Devin!!
While the connection with the #22 would be cool, I hope he is drafted much higher than that!
Me too. A lot of projections have him around that number so I thought I’d have a little fun.
Yogi Roth asked him if he thought about being drafted at 22 and Lloyd liked the idea. He was assigned #22 at the combine and everyone thought that was super weird because he didn’t choose it. Obviously I don’t know where he’ll go, but I thought I’d have a little fun.
I like Lloyd at #14 to Baltimore.
I’d like if he went 14 and join fellow Ute Marcus Williams.
If not there then Chargers at 17 or Eagles would be nice
I don’t want him on NE being a Phins fan
Agree with your NE sentiments. Although being in that system helped Van Noy out a ton.
